May 26th Newsletter

Friday, May 26
It has been another busy and successful week for our staff and students. Beloit Memorial High School hosted the 2023 Senior Academic Scholarship Awards Program on Wednesday evening. I was happy to be a part of honoring our seniors and their academic accomplishments. We celebrated our Honor Graduates, Senior Academic All-Stars, President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement recipients, Superintendent Scholars Award recipients, Rotary Students of the Week, and the many seniors who received department awards and career and college scholarships. I have often said when talent meets hard work, nothing is impossible. The future looks bright for the Class of 2023 and our community. For the Senior Academic Scholarship Award Program book, please click here.
I also want to recognize our student-athletes who will compete in upcoming sectional sporting events. Congratulations to Conner Churchill and Max Allen, who are advancing to the WIAA Boys Golf Sectional Tournament; Joshua Martinez Marte advancing to the track and field sectionals after competing in the WIAA Division 1 Badger Regional in the shot put and discus; and Alex Funk advancing to Tennis Sectionals. #BeloitProud
On Tuesday and Wednesday, our 4th and 5th grade students from Aldrich, Cunningham, Fruzen, and McNeel participated in our annual district track meet at Beloit Memorial High School. Students spent the day competing in a series of track and field events and showing great sportsmanship. Thank you to our physical education teachers for coordinating this event and our staff and high school students for volunteering to make it happen.
Please take time this Memorial Day weekend to remember and honor our military personnel who have given their life to our country.
In service,
Dr. Willie E. Garrison II
