A Message from the Principal
I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend with your families. We missed your kiddos and are ready to welcome them back tomorrow!
We are heading into our 4th week of the school year and I am amazed at all your students are already learning. They have jumped seamlessly back into our school routines and haven't wasted any time getting right to business. Our hallways are already filled with displays of hard work and our classrooms have quickly become places of engaged learning. As I walk through our school community, I am filled with pride and look forward to seeing what each child accomplishes this year. Please know that we will work to set ambitious goals for our students and will hold them to high standards as we grow together.
One of the things that teachers are busy completing right now is our beginning of year (BOY) testing. This testing is administered at every grade level and is designed to provide important information on your child's current academic skills and needs. Teachers will use this information to plan lessons and differentiate instruction to ensure that every student gets what they need. We will hold parent-teacher conference in October to share this information with you.
Our annual Back to School Night is happening this month! This is an opportunity for parents and families to receive essential information that will help your student be successful this school year. Teachers will present in their classroom about "Need to Know" topics so that we can build a strong relationship between school and home. We can't wait to see you there.
Please make sure that you read the information below about "Free and Reduced Lunch" applications. We NEED ALL families to complete this form even if you are not in need of this assistance or don't think you will qualify. The responses from this application are used to determine part of our campus funding and we want to make sure we receive all the money we can to support our teachers and students.
Please let us know if there is anything you need or anything we can help with. Our campus is filled with a team of dedicated educators who are available to assist. It's going to be a great year to be a White Tiger!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dossey

Watch D.O.G.S
The "Dads of Great Students," or Watch D.O.G.S. program, provides positive male role models for campuses around the nation and has been active for over two decades. We are excited to bring the program to Caldwell this year and are looking for dads, grand-dads, uncles, etc who will be willing to come volunteer their time. This time may be spent being a presence in the hallways, checking doors, supporting students at recess and at lunch, or helping students with their academics.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please:
- Fill out this Google form to show interest and to stay up to date on Watch D.O.G.S. happenings around Caldwell, and
- Go to the district web site to fill out a volunteer application. This application can be found at https://www.pfisd.net/volunteers.
Our Watch D.O.G.S sign up event will be held September 19 at 5:00pm prior to Back to School Night. For any questions please feel free to contact our Social Worker, Sherri Scott at sherri.scott@pfisd.net or our Counselor, Patricia Johnson at patricia.johnson@pfisd.net.
For more information on the program you can go to https://dadsofgreatstudents.com/about/. We are looking forward to the support you can bring and thank you for your interest!

Afternoon Dismissal
Thank you for helping our afternoon dismissal process go smoothly each day. Please read the reminders below.
- We are moving the car line faster each day. After a couple more weeks, the car line will begin to even move smoothly and this will be a faster option for getting your child.
- Walk-up parents should either walk from their home or park on the Fitzgerald side of the building. This reduces foot traffic across the main crosswalk and allows our car line to move when needed.
- If you do choose to walk up to get your student, you must wait behind the cones. It is very unsafe to have parents walking into the grade level lines to grab students. We must ensure that we know when each student is getting picked up.
- Please make sure you put your car dismissal tag with your student’s name on your dash each day. If you walk up, you should hold the dismissal tag in front of you until your student is brought to you. Bringing your dismissal sign daily is essential to the dismissal process moving faster.
