Term 4 Update
12 October 2021
Dear Parents/Caregivers
Our Government has kept with their cautious approach when responding to COVID-19, and as a result, we will stay at Alert Level 3 for a bit longer.
Here is some key information you should be aware of:
- Schools will not open on Monday, 18 October. For the start of Term 4, Alert Level 3 rules apply. Our school essentially remains closed with the exception of those few children whose parents work away from home and cannot arrange suitable supervision. Please use this Google Form if you need to register your child for supervision.
- All school staff are required to have returned a negative COVID-19 test result before they can return to working on site, regardless of their vaccination status. For the remainder of the year all non-vaccinated staff are required to have weekly tests.
- All teaching and support staff will need to be vaccinated by 1 January 2022. Non vaccinated staff will be required to have their first dose by 15 November.
We are proud of how our community has responded to this outbreak, but the mahi isn’t yet done. Vaccination rates in Pakuranga appear to be strong, however, we must keep doing the right thing and follow the Alert Level 3 phase restriction rules. Please continue to follow all the alert level requirements including staying at home and getting tested for COVID-19 if you are feeling unwell, and for your own sake and for the health of your whānau, please get vaccinated. I have included some information about vaccinations to support decision-making.
Ngā mihi nui
