We hope you have fun plans for the FOUR DAY weekend! The extra day on Friday gives our teachers the time they need to sift through the data and prepare your child's progress report.
Our end of year Family Survey is still open. An email with the survey link was sent earlier in the week. PLEASE take the time to complete the survey. The data is so important to help us know where we need to improve. Currently the two leading "NEED IMPROVEMENT" areas include:
- Build a larger parking lot
- Provide VENMO for Dress Down Days
Building a larger parking lot can only happen if we take away the kid's play area (the turf field) and turn it into a parking lot. As you can imagine, that's not a direction we want to go since our kids absolutely NEED a place to play.
Currently, VENMO is not an approved method of collection for public schools. PTAs can use VENMO as they are not public schools. Bridge does not use a PTA and our donations are collected directly by the school. It would make our lives and yours MUCH easier if VENMO was added. As soon as it becomes an approved form of collection we will let you know and include it for our $2 Dress Down Donation days. In lieu of $2 on Dress Down Fridays you can donate $18 at the beginning of the next school year using our online tool found on our website at: https://www.bridgecharter.org/donate
NOW HIRING - 6TH GRADE PARA EDUCATOR - We are still looking for that just right person for our 6th grade team. This individual will work up to 40 hours weekly, 7:30 - 4:30 M - TH and 7:30 - 3:30 on Friday. They need to be decent at math - at least understand 6th grade math well enough to explain to it students. Pay is $16 - $18 hour depending on education and experience. This individual will also spend some time on Fridays helping with custodial work and if interested, there could be some custodial work during school holidays. Please email a resume to Lani@BridgeCharter.org
Just another reminder - NO OPEN TOED SHOES - yes sandals, slides and flip flops are all the rage, but they are not safe at school. Please make sure your kiddos are wearing closed toe shoes at school. Keens and trail sandals are fine as long as the toes are covered. Also, shorts need to be no shorter than 4" above the knee.
STAFF HIGHLIGHTS
This week's staff highlight features our INCREDIBLE lunch team. Although they are technically contractors from an amazing company Lunch Pro, they are still part of Bridge and treat our kids and staff SO well! Reduce Summer Learning Loss
Please set up a schedule with your child so Imagine Learning becomes part of their daily routine during the summer. Perhaps it is part of their chore chart or is something they do before they get to play video games or go outside to play with friends. Alos, reading an additional 20 minutes each day will also help ensure your child is ready for the upcoming school year.
Imagine Learning will remain available even to the students who will not be returning to Bridge next school year, including the 6th graders moving on to junior high. Unfortunately, we will not be able to add our new students to the program until school begins in August.
Field Day Fun - Thursday
ONE & DONE FOR SAFETY
Although there is plenty of supervision with all of the teachers and para-educators present, students still have a lot of area to play in and there is a lot of noise and activity. For some kids this is over stimulating and may lead to them making choices that create situations that are unsafe for themselves and others. We definitely have provisions and plans in place; however, for the safety of everyone we will have a ONE AND DONE policy for Field Day. What does this mean?
If your child behaves in a way that puts themselves or another child or other children at risk, your child will be escorted to the office and parents or guardians will be called. There will be no second chances - that's why we call it One and Done. Your child will remain in the office until the parent or guardian can come and pick up the student. If you believe your child would benefit from additional supervision during Field Day PLEASE let your child's teacher know that you or another ADULT family member will be joining your student at Field Day. We want all kids to have a blast but we also want all kids to be safe and having their parent or guardian present may help them be successful and have fun. Unfortunately, if you plan to accompany your student you will NOT be able to bring other children with you.

Missing Library Books and Unpaid Lunch Balances
- Pay for the library book.
- Replace the book with another book in fairly new condition (can be a different book)
Lunch balances MUST be paid by the last day of school. Lunch balances in arrears at the end of school will be turned over to a collection agency in June. If your child's lunch account is in arrears and you prefer not to be sent to collections, you can make payment in the office or online until June 8, 2023. Online Lunch Payments
When payments are made online we must complete several steps to get the payments moved to Aspire. We do this every Monday and Wednesday. After we run the online report it takes another day for the money to post to your student's Aspire account. Please allow 3 - 5 days from the day you make the online payment to the day the information posts in Aspire.
The link to make payments online is found on our website by selecting the MEALS icon.

Title I
Bridge Elementary receives our Title I funding based on the percentage of students that qualify for free or reduced lunch. For this reason we encourage ALL families to apply for Free/Reduced lunch through Aspire to ensure every single student receives the services needed, including access to free or reduced meals if appropriate.
Title I provides avenues for parent input and participation. We do this through our surveys and the link to the form on our website which allows parents to submit questions and suggestions.
You can find more information about Title I as well as a form to ask questions or provide suggestions regarding Title I, on our website at:
