All Saints Academy Update
August 15, 2021
Holy day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - August 15, 2021
Message about today's Gospel reading taken from Luke 11:27-28
While Jesus was speaking,
a woman from the crowd called out and said to him,
“Blessed is the womb that carried you
and the breasts at which you nursed.”
He replied,
“Rather, blessed are those
who hear the word of God and observe it.”
How fortunate we are to provide our students with the opportunity to hear God's word and practice observing his commands. As a staff, we have prayerfully answered the call to serve these children and we have spent the summer preparing for the new school year. In the process, we prayed for our students and families, we participated in professional development opportunities to sharpen our teaching skills, and we learned more about our faith so that we could have honest and Spirit-led discussions with our students about the realities of todays world.
Thank you all for entrusting your children to us. The ministry of serving in a Catholic School is not taken lightly.
Noehmi Jauregui
Principal, All Saints Academy of Stockton
We gathered as a school community to prepare our campus for the new school year! Thank you parents and volunteers!
A special thank you to our donors who provided the funding for our campus renovations! You know who you are!
Bishop Cotta and our Partner Parish Pastors Blessed the Campus of All Saints Academy on Aug 8, 2021
We celebrated our first week at school and met new friends!
Special thanks to Mrs. Jane Cook and Mr. Alan Cook (and friends) for donating and dedicating a book for every Kindergarten child. The children were so excited to read their books!
Thank you to those that attended our virtual Back To School Night! Please reach out to your child's teacher if you were unable to make it.
Music with Mr. Greg Farbizio
Mr. Greg is interested in teaching our students how to play the piano and may begin offering piano lessons before school. Please watch your email for that announcement.
Physical Education with Mr. Floyd Howard
Art with Mrs. Frances Yamuni
Mrs. Yamuni runs her own business outside of the school called Colors and Canvas and hosts paint parties. She can be found on facebook @colorsandcanvas2u and contacted by email at colorsandcanvas2u@gmail.com.
After School care is available from 3-6pm everyday with Ms. Ballew and Mrs. Lee.
CYO Sports - Everyone can participate!
CYO Sports is starting...our ENTIRE school can participate if we have enough volunteers.
Girls Basketball (Grades 4/5 and 6, 7,8) are starting to train on Mondays and Thursdays afterschool, on campus. Girls should meet Coach Barrett outside the 7/8 classroom at 3:30pm, dressed, and ready to practice outside. Bring a ball (if you have one) and plenty of EXTRA water. You will need it! First game is in October. (We still need volunteers to help Coach Barrett. You don't need to have prior experience.)
Cross Country is available for grades 6-8 (girls and boys). Please meet Coach Erdman outside the Kindergarten classroom on Tuesdays at 3:30pm, dressed, and ready to practice outside. Bring LOTS of water! The first cross country meet will be on August 28th. Details coming. (We still need volunteers to help Coach Erdman. You don't need to have running experience.)
We are able to have Cross Country teams for K-1, 2-3, and 4-5 but we need volunteer coaches. Are there any parents interested in training the kids? Cross Country will have a total of four meets and the first one is on August 28. This is a great way to meet the kids and their parents. Please let me know if you are interested and we can talk about your practice schedule and location (doesn't have to be our school).
Is your Middle School child (Grade 5-8) interested in Band or Choir?
If your child is interested in choir, please have your child report to the music room during lunch on Wednesdays.
If your child is interested in band (wind or percussion instruments), please let Mrs. Jauregui know (watch for an email from Mrs. Jauregui). The All Saints Band will meet on Wednesday's afterschool from 2:15-3:15pm starting this week.
There will be at least two performances for our All Saints Choir and the All Saints Band at St. Mary's High School - one for the Christmas program in December and one in the Spring 2022.
Looking for parent/grandparent volunteers for our School Advisory Board - please help!
Please volunteer. You don't need to know anything in advance. You just need to be willing to meet, offer ideas and solutions to the principal, and act as a representative for all of the other parents. Please let me know if you are interested in participating and which parish you would like to represent.
If you are not representing a parish (general school community parent), please let me know that as well.
Thank you Parents! We can't do this without you!
Student Council Elections coming up....
Keep wearing a mask and washing your hands! We want our entire community to be safe!
