Hello Parents!

Welcome to Week 6 of the 2023-2024 school year! Progress reports went home, so please review your student's academic progress. You can reach out to your child's team of teachers should you have any questions. Teachers, counselors and grade level administrators are happy to help schedule conferences and meetings so that all work together in partnerships to help your student SOAR!

This week we have Picture Day that will be held on Tuesday, September 26. Your child may "dress up" for picture day on the top half, but the top should still be school appropriate, and the bottom half should still be in dress code should pants be worn. Please make sure you "opted in" to having your child pictured if you would like them in the yearbook and pictured in school activities. If you "opted out" of photos when registering, you can opt back in by contacting our registrar.

In addition to Picture Day, we will announce the Falcon Spotlight awardees this week; this month's trait is "principled". If one is principled, it means the person lives by a set of ethics, morals, and that they have a strong definition of "right" and "wrong." I can't wait to see who receives the Falcon Spotlight this month and to honor his/her character!

Throughout, Hispanic Heritage month, Sullivan will feature short interviews of our SMS teachers of Hispanic and Latino Heritage. Reading Competition

Falcons, who can read the most books and log them into the Launchpad SLMS Reading Log application? Teachers, or students? Currently, 6th grade is winning with 7th in 2nd place. The ELA class who has read the most books is Ms Jones' class, and Ms. Obregon's students are 2nd!

We will celebrate the leading winners each quarter!

BIMAS Screening

The BIMAS Universal Screener will occur on September 27. An informational letter can be found HERE.

8th DC Trip Meeting

On Thursday, September 28th, we will have an informational meeting about our 8th grade trip to Washington, DC. We will meet in the Sullivan Auditorium from 6 to 7pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
