Seniors!
This is the website/opportunity you've been waiting for! The biggest one stop shop for all of our local scholarships. This means our community wants to give YOU these scholarship dollars. Act now because the deadline is approaching soon.
The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties is excited to announce that the application for our Scholarship Program is now open. Interested applicants should visit https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/CFPBMC/ to view and apply for potential scholarships. It will remain open through 4:00 P.M. (EST) on February 7, 2024, and we recommend students complete the application before the deadline to allow time for additional requirements such as completing essays and obtaining transcripts and letters of recommendation.
Student Volunteers Needed
Students are invited to participate as volunteers in the upcoming 3rd Annual MLK5K and Divine Nine 5K Challenge. This annual fundraising event is a great way to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and also provides an excellent opportunity for high school students to engage in meaningful volunteer work. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 20 at Dan Calloway Park in Riviera Beach, and we would be honored to have students from your school contribute to its success. We are expecting approximately 400 participants including a large number of students from area elementary schools.
The volunteer roles available for students encompass a variety of tasks, ensuring that there is an option suitable for every individual. Some of the responsibilities include:
Registration Support: Assist with participant check-in and distribution of race materials.
Vendor Support: Help set up tables and chairs as well as guide vendors to their respective locations.
Parking Assistance: Direct participants, vendors and spectators to available parking spaces within the park.
Water Stations: Ensure participants stay hydrated by managing water stations along the race route.
Course Monitors: Help guide and direct walkers and runners along the designated course to ensure their safety.
Finish Line Assistance: Aid in organizing the finish line area, distributing medals, water, and snacks and providing support to participants as they complete the race.
Event Cleanup: Assist in post-event cleanup activities to maintain the cleanliness of the venue.
Please feel free to reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Gayle Waldron at (561) 393-1587 or gayle.waldon@morganstanley.com to discuss this further or if you have any questions. We look forward to the possibility of working together on this community-focused initiative.

Food Finder
Hunger is a concern for many of our families in Palm Beach County. The United Way of Palm Beach County has developed a Food Finder map to assist families with finding food pantries and distribution locations. The Palm Beach County Food Finder Map now includes "Holiday Meal" events for food and toy giveaways in December. This list contains information provided by 211 and the Hunger Relief network. The website is updated regularly with new information.
The FindHelp.org website has various resources, including food, housing, and health-related locations.
