Enroll by October 31 for Tech Protect:
Device Protection Plan available for families with students assigned district Chromebooks
Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year is now open until October 31
As careful as students and schools are, accidents do happen each year - and hundreds of Chromebooks are returned at the end of the school year with damages.
Families have the option to enroll in the Device Protection Plan until October 31.
The Technology Protection Plan is optional; it is not required, however, by electing not to participate in the Protection Plan, families may be required to reimburse the school district for the replacement or repair of damaged Chromebooks assigned to their student/s. Damaged or broken screens may cost between $50 to $150 depending on parts needed; or the replacement cost for the entire device could be up to $410.
Families can opt-in to the Device Protection Plan by logging into A-HConnect, and selecting "My Student Information," and "Fees." Parents must select or decline coverage under the Device Protection Plan.
- The plan cost is $20 per student or $60 per family per school year.
- If the student qualifies for free or reduced-price school meals in the 2023-24 school year, the cost of the Protection Plan will be reduced to $0.
- Repairs with the Protection Plan are subject to a $15 deductible.
Procedural Expectations for Picking Up Your Student Early
If you will be picking up your student(s) early please follow this procedure:
- Calling and leaving a message on the attendance line; 763-506-5806
- Enter the pick-up time and reason in ParentVue
- Have your student bring a note to the attendance office in the morning
- We request a half days notice whenever possible if you are picking up your student
- The cut-off time to pick up your student is 2:30 p.m.
- Parking in front of the school to pick up your student ends at 2:30 p.m.
- If we are not notified prior, it will take longer to get your student out of lunch or class
Following this procedure helps the office prepare for your arrival and helps you get to your destination on time.

Volunteer News

The Blaine Swim & Dive Program invites you to join our team!
The Blaine Bengals Swimming and Diving Team is a high school activity of Blaine High School, open to grades 7-12. Our team is offered as an activity to both girls and boys.
The Boys Team is a Winter Sport and Registration opens in Mid November with the first day of practice on 11/28/22 .
Our swimming and diving coaching staff is a professional, highly motivated and enthusiastic group focused on individual and team improvement both in the water and out. The goal of our team is to provide every member with an opportunity to improve their swimming or diving skills, experience what it means to be a part of a team, and achieve individual success through hard work, dedication, and FUN!
Before Joining Blaine Boys Swim & Dive the athlete will be able to:
Emphasis is put on learning the four basic strokes, starts and turns.
Demonstration of coachability
Ability to swim 1 length (5 yards) without stopping
Ability to hold breath for 30-60 seconds

Free school meals, educational benefits and nutrition
New this school year, every student is able to receive one breakfast and one lunch at no cost during the school year due to the state’s Free School Meals program. While the program is new, students will still have access to the same nutritious meals they have come to expect in Anoka-Hennepin.
In the latest Parent Engage 360 Podcast, host Liz Burgard was joined by Anoka-Hennepin child nutrition leaders Noah Atlas (director) and Callie Neumann (assistant director) to learn more about the state’s Free School Meals program, educational benefits and the importance of balanced nutrition for youth.

The Parent Engage 360 Podcast aims to provide parents and guardians with knowledge from experts in chemical health, mental health, internet safety and more, as well as the tools needed to support their children. Anoka-Hennepin hopes that providing timely and helpful information through the Parent Engage 360 podcast series will strengthen the bond between school and home with resources parents and guardians can use and share with others.
Special Education Advisory Council Resource Information Night set for Nov. 16
The Anoka-Hennepin Schools Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) is hosting a resource information night on Thursday, Nov. 16 for families of students with special needs. A total of seven different vendors will be in attendance to share information with families about community resources.

Educational Service Center, 2727 N Ferry St., Anoka.

Families will be able to speak with various vendors at stations which will be set up in the room.
Vendors will cover activities, dental care, sports, and community groups for students with special needs.
The intent of the SEAC is to provide tools and resources to help guardians of children receiving special education services and collaborate with the district in order to promote continuous growth of special education services to best meet the needs of students. Members serve as a representative of district learners with disabilities from birth through age 22. SEAC strives to promote, educate and share resources between families, schools, and communities.
The council is a partnership between parents/guardians and the school district and meets four times (three in person and one virtual) during the school year.
