Greetings Lemira Family:
This year, we will continue to "Lead and Learn with Intention and Optimism as we Nurture the Success of all Students", for we are the L.I.O.N.S. Our mission is to motivate, inspire, and educate all students to be college and career ready.
Thank You
Thank you to our many grandparents who joined for lunch on "Grandparents' Day". We had over 90 grandparents on campus! We love our grandparents!!!
Thank you to our parents who came out to Open House drop in. It was great seeing our families as they interacted with our school staff!
Thanks to the Sumter Educational Foundation for gifting our new teachers to the district with gift cards.
Congratulations
Congratulations to the Lions for receiving a $2500 grant from Prisma Health. The grant will be used to restock on instructional school supplies for students to use throughout the school year.

7. Counselor's Corner:
Homework Help
Do your children expect your help with their homework? Let them know you’re around if they need you, but their schoolwork is their job. The benefit? They’ll learn how to find the answers themselves, as well as boost their skills.
8. March of Dimes Fundraiser: Lemira is currently participating in the March of Dimes Fundraiser.
If you would like to contribute a donation, please visit our site:
Team Captain: Ms. Kwitenia Holland
9. Join the Lions at the City of Sumter's EFEST on October 1st.
10. Exact Path: Please encourage your learner to continue working on his/her learning pathways while at home. There is a designated block during the school day, Lion Enrichment, in which students work on Exact Path. They may also work on their pathways at home.
11. Reading Interventionist Corner:
A child’s success as a reader begins as early as his or her infant stage. Reading, and a love for reading, begins at home. This year I will be sharing tips for parents and guardians to help foster their child reading development.
Tip 1: Talk to your child about the books he or she likes to read. It's always good for children to see that you are interested in what they enjoy, especially when it comes to reading.
Book of the Month: "The Day You Begin" by Jacqueline Woodson.
12. Communication Folders: Communication folders are sent home daily. Please check each day and return.
As always, we look forward to our continued partnership! Together, we will make this the best year ever!
