Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of educating and nurturing your child. We look forward to continuing this journey together in the coming year, filled with new opportunities and achievements.
Wishing you a wonderful winter break and a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!

Your Child’s Schedule May Change for Quarter Three
We understand that schedule changes can have an impact on students, and we strive to minimize disruptions as much as possible. However, in certain instances, adjustments are necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of our academic environment. These adjustments serve various purposes, including balancing class sizes, accommodating new students joining our school community, moving students in and out of interventions, and addressing behavioral challenges by creating separate schedules. Any schedule changes will be posted in HAC on Monday January 8th. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Notes From the Main Office
THANK YOU WMS PTO
A huge thanks to the Wredling PTO for purchasing our Book Vending Machine. Students have been excited to earn/win tokens for some fantastic new titles. The positive impact that the vending machine is having on our students' enthusiasm for reading is evident in these big smiles.
WMS - Fragrance Free
We need your help. We have many individuals with allergies and asthma. As a result, we are asking that students not use perfume or cologne at school. For those with allergies and asthma, these various scents can be a trigger and can cause an attack. When students shower regularly and use deodorant, they should not have a need for cologne or perfume at school. Please have a conversation regarding this topic with your RedHawk(s). Thank you for helping us keep students & staff safe and healthy at Wredling!
The Wred Feather newspaper club invites our families to enjoy a special holiday edition of our online newspaper. Get ready to dive into a world of festive fun packed with jolly holiday features, teacher interviews, trivia/games, and more! We hope you enjoy the hard work and talent of our Redhawk writers!
You can access the Wred Feather on our Wredling website. Happy Reading!
Share a screenshot of where it's posted again on the Wredling site.

FUTURE FRESHMAN MESSAGES
Dear Future North Star Families,
In light of the pending School Board decision in February on high school attendance boundaries, we are rescheduling the Future Freshmen event from January 11 to January 17. The new date will allow all District 303 future freshmen to attend an event focused on the district-wide high school course offerings and course selection process. Regardless of high school assignment, it is important to have incoming freshmen course requests at this time in eSchool. This will allow the high schools to begin the sectioning and scheduling process for the 2024-2025 school year immediately following the boundary decision.
An athletic and activity event for future North Stars will be scheduled once the boundaries are established. More details about the event on January 17 will be shared following Winter Break.
More information on the District’s boundary process, including a timeline of upcoming meetings and concept maps, can be found at district.d303.org/boundary-updates.
Sincerely,
Shanna Lewis

St Charles North Peer Leadership
SCN is a great place, but it’s also a big place. Peer Leadership (PL) hopes to make the transition to high school more comfortable and fun, while offering opportunities for growth.
The goals of Peer Leadership are to:
Match incoming freshmen with selected upperclassmen mentors.
Foster lasting friendships and bonds between the freshmen, their mentors, and the kids in their PL Groups.
Improve freshmen self-confidence and self-advocacy.
Prepare freshmen to become participants in clubs, sports, classes, and other activities at SCN.
Prepare freshmen for future leadership roles.
PL Students meet together in groups every day. PL is formally added to student schedules and takes the place of lunch/ study hall. There are weekly themes that are educational, informative, supportive, and fun. PL also attends a day of teambuilding “Camp”, has several “all PL” activities during the year, and meets together in groups both formally and informally.
We would like to be able to offer PL to all interested incoming freshmen, but our numbers are limited. In order to start the selection process, interested students (or their parents) should fill out this:
Fill out this FORM if you're interested in PL

Peer Leadership... a great way to start high school!
St Charles East Peer Leadership
Peer Leadership is an extracurricular program that matches selected incoming freshmen with juniors and seniors who make the transition into high school fun and easy and mentor them throughout the year. Because this program meets during the school day, it has to be put into a student’s schedule when registering for next year’s classes. Although we would like to be able to offer this to all interested incoming freshmen, our numbers are limited by available classroom space and our budget. Therefore, in order to start the selection process, interested students should apply using the application found below.
If your child is interested in the program, please fill out the application and e-mail it to Kelly Pursel, the Peer Leadership Coordinator (Kelly.Pursel@d303.org). Completed applications must be received no later than Monday, January 22nd, 2024. For more information about Peer Leadership, please attend Future Saints Night in January.
We hope to hear from you!
