NEW PROFESSIONAL BOOK!
The School Counselor's Guide to Multi-tiered Systems of Support
The School Counselor’s Guide to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support is the first book to provide school counseling practitioners, students, and faculty with information and resources regarding the alignment and implementation of Comprehensive School Counseling Programs (CSCPs) such as the ASCA National Model and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
This innovative text provides a strong theoretical and research base, as well as practical examples from the field, case studies, and relevant hands-on resources and tools to assist school counselors in comprehending, facilitating, and strengthening the implementation of CSCPs, particularly through MTSS alignment. Furthermore, chapters include pertinent information from the CACREP standards and the ASCA National Model.
This book is an essential resource for pre-service and practicing school counselors, as well as their leaders, supervisors, and faculty looking to better understand and utilize the overlap between CSCPs and MTSS, to strengthen school counseling programs to better serve students, schools, and communities.
Teen Health & Wellness Posters
Teen Health & Wellness is an invaluable digital resource available 24/7. Following the January Counselor Academy, there was great interest from secondary counselors in the Teen Health & Wellness posters for restroom stalls and offices.
The MBAEA Media Center will provide ten 11x17 copies for each secondary building. Counselors will receive communication to complete this brief survey by February 25. I encouraged them to reach out to their teacher-librarian or media-center-staff@aea9.k12.ia.us for username and password support or additional questions.
Need additional information on Teen Health and Wellness?
It provides middle and high school students with up-to-date, nonjudgmental, straightforward curricular, and self-help support. Articles are correlated to state, national, and provincial standards, including Common Core Health and Science. Topics covered include diseases, drugs, alcohol, nutrition, mental health, suicide, bullying, LGBTQ+ issues, and more. What are you waiting for? Explore today!
