Thank you to the Book Fair Committee for all of your work to make the book fair fun and successful. Thank you to all the students who purchased books! The book fair made a profit of $2,000 which will be going to the Gayman Home and School for school assemblies and HSA Events.

The kids were wonderful and so polite. They had a great time and learned real life lessons such as figuring out how much a books cost and how much they can spend. If you have any remaining funds in your e-wallet account, you can purchase books on-line until September 24, 2023 at the following link: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/gaymanelemschool.

Please note the funds will stay in your account and roll over until next year. If you have a 6th Grade child, please use the funds in your e-wallet account by September 24, 2023. Please contact Scholastic with any questions about your e-wallet account at 1-800-541-1097.

The Central Bucks iPad and Laptop fee is now due.

Parents of students in 3rd - 6th grade are asked to pay a $15 fee via MyPaymentsPlus. If you cannot afford the fee for personal reasons, please contact Mr. Ortman at sortman@cbsd.org. We will be happy to make other arrangements.

If you are choosing to opt out of the program. Then, your child's device will remain in school and he/she may have access to the laptop during the school day, only.

The state of Pennsylvania requires students in certain grades to have health exams.

• Kindergarten and New students: Dental and Physical Exams
• Grades 3 and 7: Dental Exam
• Grades 6 and 11: Physical Exam

The dental and physical forms can be found HERE. The completed health forms are due to Mrs. Sara Hedges, our school nurse, no later than October 22, 2023. You can upload your completed exam forms to your child's Parent Portal account. Please keep a copy of the health forms for your records.

5th & 6th Grade students are invited to join the Gayman Elementary Chorus. If your child is interested, please complete the permission slip and return to Mrs. Simon by Thursday, September 21st. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email Mrs. Simon at lmsimon@cbsd.org

Student dismissal begins promptly at 3:15PM.

If you would like to pick up your son/daughter for an appointment, please pick up your child before 2:45PM. After 2:45PM, your child will be asked to wait with the other walkers, bus and car riders in his/her classroom, to ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for everyone. Thank you!

This school year, the Gayman Home and School Association (GHSA) will be continuing to use annual Family Dues to help supplement the cost of all the amazing experiences the GHSA helps bring to Gayman Elementary.

Some of the experiences your children will have the ability to participate in, with the help of the GHSA are: Popsicles on the Playground, Fall Festival, Bingo, Dance, Library Technology, Author’s Day, School Assemblies, Kids Care Club and the End of Year Picnic. Say cheese! Picture Day is Thursday, September 28th, with retakes on Wednesday, November 8th.

Your child's teacher will be distributing the Picture Day order forms this week. If you have any questions, feel free to call the Gayman Main Office.

We are preparing for the 2023-2024 Student Directory. This directory includes school information, as well as parent contact information. If you do NOT wish to have your personal information included in the directory (address, phone number, and email) please contact Gayman HSA at GHSAInquiries@gmail.com by October 6th. Thank you!

Mark your calendars! If you signed up for any GHSA committees this year (or still want to), if you've been selected as a homeroom parent/assistant (if you were selected you were notified on 9/19 via email), or if you've always wanted to get involved at Gayman-just a little bit, or in a bigger way-please join us in the All-Purpose Room on Tuesday, September 26th at 9am!

We are excited to announce that breakfast will be free again this year!

The cost for lunch is $2.60. The meal must include items from at least 3 food groups, one of those items must be a ½ cup of fresh vegetable, ½ cup of fresh fruit or 100% fruit juice to follow USDA guidelines for the NSLP. Any second entrée will be charged a la carte pricing to the student's account.

Central Bucks Aquatics has openings for assistant swim coaches for our introductory and competitive swim teams for the 2023-2024 school year. This is often a great fit for individuals who already work for CBSD. If you have prior swimming and/or coaching experience this is a great opportunity! Practices are at CB East and CB South High Schools.

Typical Practice Days/Times

Exact practice times vary throughout the year but are generally 2 to 3 hours within these timeframes:

Monday through Thursday 5:30 – 9 p.m.

Occasional Fridays 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Some Saturday mornings 8 a.m. – 1p.m.

Additional opportunities are available for coaches with previous USAS coaching experience.
