100th Day of School / Catholic Schools Week
Good Afternoon,
Yesterday marked our 100th day of school! Hard to believe that we are on the downhill slope. For me personally, it has been an awesome adventure so far. I am learning a lot, and loving every single minute of it! The support from our parish community has been amazing. Our students and staff are such a joy to serve with. Just as iron sharpens iron, we help each other pursue excellence in the classroom, and more importantly we help each other pursue Heaven every day.
Catholic Schools Week has been filled with excitement. The students have enjoyed the out of uniform days and the out of the ordinary paths & obstacles in the hallways. Walking down the hall has been the highlight for our students this week! I'm interested to see how we transition back into straight & quiet lines next week! Monday was Green Day in recognition of the Liturgical Calendar. Tuesday was Pajama Day, which has definitely been the most popular! Something about wearing pajamas to school really gets the kids (and teachers😃) excited! Wednesday was sports day, and we saw a lot of different sports teams represented. Thursday we wore our normal Mass uniforms as Father Wood celebrated School Mass on our 100th day of school! Today we went wild for Catholic Education as we wore our wild west gear!
We had a great crowd for our Student Showcase today! Our students put on an awesome show. Our students are so talented! We had students singing, dancing, tumbling, drumming, doing taekwando, acting out skits, playing the violin, playing the piano, and much more! Our art teacher, Mr. Garcia, finished the show off by starting with a blank canvas and painted a picture of me in about 5 minutes! It was spectacular. I am so grateful for our teachers, students, and families. I am truly blessed to serve in this role for this great parish community and school.
Lastly, we will host our first annual Shrimp Boil Fundraiser on Saturday evening. This will be a great night for the adults to enjoy fellowship, great food, and support our parish school!
Our PTO and our Teachers have spent so much time behind the scenes preparing for this week, and it has been nothing short of exceptional. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers, our PTO board of directors, and our teachers for making this happen!
Also, THANK YOU to everyone who donated items for the Silent Auction! We have some great items to bid on, and I'm excited to see how the auction ends on Saturday night!
