Happy Sunday Harrington Families
Happy Super Bowl Sunday!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend so far and if you are planning on having a Super Bowl get together you are safe and just smile and be happy. However, I don't know how happy we can all be considering our New England Patriots are not involved this year (again)... Last night we had our HPTO Movie Night event, and WOW!! Approximately 270 students were on hand to help bring back this event with a bang! It has been 3 yrs since we've been able to have this wonderful event for our students. By all accounts the students had a wonderful time hanging out with their friends on a Saturday night in their school cafeteria. Thank you to the HPTO for putting together another amazing community event, the planning, organization and just the logistical push it takes to put an event this big on is quite substantial and our HPTO pulls it off with ease every time. Special thank you to our parent volunteers and our HS student volunteers! If you haven't yet, I strongly suggest your reach out to our HPTO and say "Thank You" for all that they do for our community.
It has come to our attention that students have been swapping presents and trading items at school. This includes the trading of Pokémon cards. This has led to many students getting upset. Moving forward please do not allow your child to bring objects to school to trade with others unless instructed to by the teacher.
It was another successful penny war. Thank you to everyone who sent in money with their students! Thanks, to everyone's hard work we raised a couple thousand dollars to benefit families within our community. The final number will be revealed tomorrow on the school announcements and on Facebook. We will also be announcing the winning class.
Save the date for Harrington's first in person family math night. Along with parent, Molly Rawding, we will be having an in-person family math night on March 23, 2023, at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. More information about the night will be coming soon.
VALENTINE'S DAY
With Valentine's Day coming up this week, this is a reminder to please not send any candy or food items into school with your student(s). With the many allergies individuals have, we do not permit candy and/or food items to be brought into school. Thank you for your support.
It is important that students are rested enough prior to coming to school, please remember to have your students get a good nights sleep each school night so that they come to school rested and reading to work hard each day.
DISMISSAL REMINDER:
Please remember that if you are changing the way in which your student will be dismissed on a particular day please send in a note with your student, or call the main office. Teachers will follow the consistent plans of that day unless there is notification from a parent/guardian to them directly. Students can be confused on dismissal plans which causes extensive confusion and a delay in the dismissal process. Again, please send in a note or call the office if you change the way your student will be getting home on any particular day.
Thank you for your continued support of Harrington. We are an inclusive community, a special community, a community that will continue to support each other.
Please ensure that you are receiving all communications from the school and that your contact information is up to date. If at any time you have changed your contact information, please let the school know so we can update our systems.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our Harrington community. Please reach out to me or Karen with any questions or concerns as always.
Once again, remember to…"Push through your day, Smile, Be Happy, Stay Positive!"
Be safe! Stay well!
Rob & Karen
