Wednesday, September 28: Homecoming Tackle Cancer Dodgeball Fundraiser in Eastview’s Main Gym from 6:15 pm - 8 pm Cost: An entrance donation of $1 - $1million. No change will be made. 100% of funds raised go to cancer research. Interested in forming a dodgeball team? See here. All students are welcome!
Friday, September 30: Tailgate on Lightning Plaza at the Homecoming Football Game (vs Eagan), 5-7 pm. Community booths and food concessions. All students and the greater public are welcome!
Saturday, October 1: Homecoming Dance. See announcements below. All students are welcome!
All Week:
Homecoming Cup – earn Cup Points for your grade by participating in Homecoming dress-up days, events, and service projects. There will be QR Code check-in at each Homecoming event. The 2022 Homecoming Cup winner will be announced at halftime of the football game on Friday.

Medallion Hunts (Indoor and Outdoor) – Look for daily clues in your Schoology Updates. All students are welcome to join in on the hunt! 200 Homecoming Cup Points to the finder of each medallion class.
Community Service (Student Choice) - All volunteering in the community during Homecoming Week will count as 10 Homecoming Cup Points per event. Photo evidence is required via this reporting form. Need some ideas? Pick up trash at your local park, rake an elderly person’s lawn, volunteer at Feed My Starving Children, serve food at a shelter, etc. All are encouraged to volunteer in the community.

Cost: $10.00. Guests must register in advance (see below for more information). Dress is semi-casual (wear nice clothes). Online ticket sales only. No cash dance ticket sales.

The dance will be inside in the EVHS Student Commons.
Homecoming Dance & Tickets
Tickets for the Homecoming Dance, held on Saturday, 10/1 from 8-11 pm, may be purchased for $10 online. Guests are welcome. ONE guest per EVHS student. All guests must register and be pre-approved via a Guest Registration Form. Guest Registration Forms can be found online. All attendees must bring a photo ID or current school ID.

All guests at the Homecoming Dance who do not attend Eastview need to complete a Guest Registration Form. ONE guest per EVHS student. The form needs to be completed by the guest’s home school administration and emailed or faxed back to EVHS on Friday, September 30 by 2:30 pm. More information is included on the form.

New: Class of 2023 and 2024 - Travel to Spain and Tangier Over Spring Break
Attention current JUNIORS and SENIORS – there is a meeting on Tuesday, Sept 27th at 7:00 am in C332, to share information about Eastview’s trip to Spain and Tangier during spring break (March 23 thru April 1st) 2023. We currently have 21 students registered and we are looking to add a few more for this fantastic opportunity.
This is chance to experience Spanish and North African culture while traveling with your friends. The trip is open to any current Eastview junior or senior.

New: REGISTRATION FOR PSAT IS FULL
Registration for the PSAT exam is full. Students may have their name placed on a waiting list. If you would like to have your students name added to the wait list please contact Suze Fulford in the Counseling Office at susanne.fulford@district196.org or at 952-431-8915. If a testing seat opens up, we will contact your student and add them to the testing roster.
Students who have already registered can come to the Counseling office during their 5th period to pick up their PSAT Official Student Guide. This guide has important PSAT Information, Test-taking advice and tips and an official practice test.
Your student's EVHS test site location will be communicated via email and Schoology by Friday, October 7th, 2022.

New: Ready, Set, FAFSA! Free financial aid events available to Minnesota students and families this fall.
Free financial aid events are available to Minnesota students and families via Zoom. The series, running on Tuesday evenings, September 27 through October 25, is intended for current high school students and families. The sessions will cover general information about the college application and financial aid process, details on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Minnesota Dream Act for undocumented students, and other ways to pay for college.
All sessions will have interpretation in Spanish, Somali, and Hmong. Attendees can ask questions in the chat and have them answered during the event by financial aid experts. Students who attend any of the sessions will be entered into a drawing to win a $500 scholarship (one entry per session attended).
Space is limited so register soon! These sessions are offered by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, Minnesota Department of Education, ECMC The College Place and Minnesota Goes to College.

New Scholarship opportunity! 150 offered nation wide!
Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 to high school students across the United States through the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Students need a 3.0 GPA and to fill out an online application that requires no essays, no recommendations, and no transcripts by October 31, 2022, at 5 p.m. Eastern.

Baseball Info Parent Meeting - TONIGHT
Eastview Baseball will hold a Parent Informational Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 20th at 7:00pm in C250. This meeting will give parents an opportunity to meet Coach Strey, ask questions, and receive important baseball information for the upcoming school year and baseball season.

New: EVMB Takes Top Honors in Waseca
On Saturday, the Marching Band brought the pride of Apple Valley to the streets of Waseca. By demonstrating their precision marching in the parade, Eastview placed 1st in Class AAA. Later in the evening, Lightning gave an exhilarating performance of their 2022 field show Baroque’N Record. Eastview’s distinct sound brought fans to their feet, and earned 1st place honors for competition performance.

New: Congratulations to Zach Prax - Distinguished Service Award
This past weekend Zach Prax was awarded the Distinguish Service Award from the Minnesota Speech Coaches Association. This is the highest honor the MSCA gives and is awarded to an outstanding leader in the speech community.
In addition to the exceptional leadership Zach provides our EVHS Speech Team, he also provides leadership for the entire state of Minnesota. He is the National Speech and Debate Association chair of the Central Minnesota District and also helps run the MSHSL State Speech Tournament.

Clue Tickets on Sale Now
By Sandy Rustin. Based upon the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn. Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth - the butler, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out...WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!
