CLF Schools Are Specialty Schools

CMIT School administrators, educators, students, and club sponsors showcased the amazing things happening at their schools with excellence at the PGCPS Specialty Showcase held on November 2, 2023. Hundreds of prospective families attended the showcase hosted by Prince George’s County specialty and charter schools. The PGCPS Charter School Lottery Application Window closes on February 9, 2024.

Our Schools Are Members Of A Strong Alliance

In partnership with the Maryland Alliance of Public Charter Schools (MAPCS), CMIT North High School was the proud host of the MAPCS Prince George’s County Charter Fair. Ms. Ozturk, Ms.Clarke, Club Sponsors, Faculty, and Students welcomed sister Prince George’s County charter schools and hundreds of attendees who wanted to learn more about each school.

Maryland Mathalon Competition Attracts Mathematicians

Mr. Ashish Vadalia, CLF STEM Program Manager, in his inaugural year as the Maryland Mathalon Coordinator, hosted scholars and families from three Maryland counties at Chesapeake Science Point Elementary School on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, for The Maryland Mathalon Competition. Scholars competed in teams and demonstrated their abilities to collaborate and problem-solve with each other.

STEM EVERY DAY!

At Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation Schools, we celebrate STEM every day! On November 8th, several of our schools continued the celebration by engaging in various STEM activities that allowed them to fine-tune their 21st-century skills! At some schools, resident experts ignited a passion for STEM fields in our scholars. At other schools, students were hands-on in their learning, experiencing the wonder of science, testing hypotheses, and drawing conclusions.

Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation was established in 2003. In 2005 the first of seven STEM focused schools was established. Chesapeake Science Point MH Charter School in Anne Arundel County, and the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy Public Charter Schools, Prince George's County, remain among Best Schools (US News). The newest and 7th school, Chesapeake Science Point Elementary Public Charter School, opened in 2023.
