Gold Period
Gold Period is built into our school day as a time when students can:
- Independently explore topics that are school related
- Work on school required work including:
- ST Math or
- Required independent reading
- Meet with teachers to work on areas in which additional support/time is needed.
The additional support/time as an element of Gold Period can be student initiated, but is also frequently teacher initiated as well. In an effort to ensure all students are supported in Math/Reading and study skills (and to balance Gold Period classes) there will be some schedule changes in Gold Period beginning on Tuesday (tomorrow) that will NOT affect any other classes in order to meet those needs. Thank you for understanding.
6th Grade Update
7th Grade Update
Math 7 students will have their first chapter test this week! Topics will include probability, area & perimeter, decimal/ fraction addition and subtraction, and fraction decimal percent conversion
8th Grade Update
- We have one last night of parent teacher conferences for the fall on Thursday, October 5th! Please check your email to see if you received a request to schedule a conference. Additionally, if you would like to schedule a conference please call during school hours.
- 8th grade is still collecting any hand sanitizer donations!
- Please remind students that computer games are NOT allowed during Gold period and study hall. We really want student to make use of that time in a positive way that reduces their at home burden (think ST Math and required reading in Gold and all other HW in SH). You can access a report of student computer use as a parent/guardian.
- FYI: the homework board is posted on students’ Study Hall Google Classroom. Students can access this slide at home to check all 8th grade teachers’ communication about what HW is due in each class.
