Preparing for Your Career
It is hard to believe that January is already wrapping up. For some of you, this may mean that you have made it through your first few weeks of graduate study at Villanova. For others, it may signify one step closer to graduation in May.
Regardless of whether you are just beginning your journey, or inching closer to its completion, I want to draw your attention to the many resources to support you in your academic and career goals. As a graduate student at Villanova University, and then as an alumnus or alumnae, you have access to the university’s wide range of resources, facilities and organizations. Let me highlight two for you today.
First, check out the Villanova University Career Center. They can guide your search for internships and jobs, write a great cover letter and resume/CV, and help you with interview preparations.
Second, for assistance with applying for research support and fellowships, visit the Center for Research and Fellowships. Villanova has a very strong record in competitions for national scholarships and fellowships. For example, we have been a Fulbright Top-Producing Institution every year for the last 10 years in a row. And graduate students are often among the most competitive for many of these awards!
Wishing you a productive, engaging and challenging semester.
