Hianca Pinho, a recent graduate affiliated with the University of Iowa’s MCH Catalyst Program, is the featured author in February’s Health Equity Edition of MCH Leads. In this post, Hianca reflects on the path that led to her current role as the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Coordinator at Johnson County Public Health, a position she secured shortly after graduation. Bright Spots Mini-Lab: Introductory NVivo Workshop
Thursday, March 21, 2024 | 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM CT | Virtual
In this session, Dr. Michael Beckstrand will lead a hands-on workshop about NVivo, a qualitative data management and coding software that aids in qualitative and mixed-methods research. Participants will learn how to add source materials, work with concepts and definitions to apply to their source materials, make annotations, and query and manage their work. Having NVivo software already available is highly recommended to get the most out of this session, but you are welcome to follow along without software. Free, virtual, and open to all! CE credits available.

The Public Health Communications Collaborative and Hispanic Communications Network co-created this tool to support public health communicators in effectively communicating with multicultural audiences. This guide is divided into three sections–messaging, visuals, and outreach–to support the development of public health communications. Each section offers strategies and tools for creating materials that build stronger relationships, increase credibility, and improve health outcomes.
