Noon Duty - 2 hour position
Noon Duties, or Character Coaches as we fondly refer to them, are integral to ensuring that our students have a positive and safe experience during recess and lunch times. Noon Duties supervise students on the playground and lunch area. They help our students to play fairly and safely, treat one another with kindness and respect, and learn how to be a good friend to others. This is a great position if your are looking to work just a few hours a day. Here’s what Noon Duty "Grandma Sharon" had to say about this position: I love being a Noon Duty at CV because...
- We are one big happy family!
- We have the best kids ever!
- I have a connection with my hundreds of “grandchildren.”
- I am surrounded by people I love.
- It’s a fun place to be!

Here is what Kate Recore, our current Science Artist in Residence has to say about this very special position: "I've been at Canyon View for 14 years, as a parent, a volunteer, a foundation president, and a substitute teacher. But, I have never loved the school more than I have as a science teacher. It has been a dream job for me, and I know whoever replaces me will feel the same way."

CATCHING UP WITH... Team CV
Foundation vs. PTO: What's the Difference?
Team Canyon View is a collaborative team comprised of the Canyon View Foundation and the PTO. Do you ever wonder ‘What’s the difference?’ While Team CV works closely together to create impactful experiences for our children, the two organizations fundraise for different things. The Foundation provides educational and enrichment opportunities and classes such as science, music, art, physical education, supplemental reading programs, technological improvements, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) enhancements such as our Innovation Station and health and safety programs. The PTO is our community building arm, providing events for families and students to create lasting and meaningful relationships with one another and their community. Each organization seeks to provide, in partnership with one another, equally important opportunities to foster well-roundedness for the development of our children.
Join the PTO
Traditionally, the annual membership fees for the PTO help to fund all of the fun school and community events such as the spring carnival (Coyote Round Up), dances, movie nights, Trunk or Treat, the Talent Show and Science Fair, ice cream socials and game nights. While membership gives members a voice and a vote for how money is spent, the PTO is also offering event sponsorship opportunities for the first time. Don’t have the means to donate? That’s ok too! Your time is just as valuable to us and we could always use the help of volunteers to make these events successful! We honor our volunteers every year at our Volunteer Brunch.
