Walnut Street Wildcat Newsletter
Wildcat Weekly!
Dear Wildcat Community,
Our PTO and PBSIS Team have been working hard in preparation of our Fall Festival. The event is slated for October 26 starting at 5:30 PM. There will be pumpkin picking, face painting, bounce houses, food, drinks, prizes, and much more! All information related to the event is below. Tickets can be bought at the door on the day of the event, but we cannot guarantee students will receive a pumpkin. We are looking forward to this event!
Please note the following adjustments:
- November's PTO meeting will now be held on Monday, November 6.
- November 7 will be a Virtual Day for students.
Our Halloween Parade Celebration will be held on October 30, 2023. Please see the letter below with important information related to costume guidelines, parade details, and other information. We are looking forward to a safe and fun event. Please review the letter and let's have an outstanding Halloween celebration!
Our School Violence Awareness Week was an absolute success! All grade levels completed age appropriate activities in the classrooms to raise awareness. Each morning a quote was read on the announcements that drew attention to important themes of the week such as empathy, being an upstander, and caring and supporting each other. There were also themed dress days that promoted teamwork, community building, empathy, and peace (see below). We also discussed ways we can keep our stress levels down and work together as a school community.
We also want to thank the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention for an outstanding assembly on fire safety and fire awareness. We were able to learn about safety and fire prevention. We even got to see a real fire truck!
PBSIS staff winners this week were Mrs. Kibel and Mrs. Petroski! They were both recognized for being incredibly helpful whenever they are needed. Student winners can be seen below!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hispanic Heritage Club Fundraiser
Our Hispanic Heritage Club is running a fundraiser that will raise funds for our very active club. Mrs. Marra, Mrs. DeNardo, and the student members of the club are hard at work planning fun events! Please consider supporting this fundraiser and view the attachments below in English and Spanish.
Attendance Counts!
Our October is off to a flying start! Attendance at all grade levels remains at a high level! Our attendance committee met this week to review our data to this point of the school year and to continue to plan for our many attendance incentives. We thank you for all of your help in making our improved attendance a reality!
Take a look at just some of our students who have perfect attendance since the beginning of the year.
