Manitou Springs High School

From The Principal
I have really enjoyed spending time in classrooms this week and seeing both the deep learning that students are engaged with and that staff are purposefully facilitating! Physical Science students are analyzing buoyancy through iterative boat designs in the lab, Theater students are creating their own radio dramas, and AP Chemistry students are calculating and discussing the difference between theoretical and actual percent yield as well as the causes. Thank you to our staff for their commitment to intentional instructional planning and to our students for their hard work and curiosity. Also, good luck to our Boys’ Soccer team tonight in their first round of State Playoffs! Additionally, good luck to our Cross Country team at their State Meet on Saturday! We are excited to celebrate them in our traditional state send off ceremony tomorrow. We are looking forward to seeing many of you at Conferences tomorrow and Friday! Have a wonderful weekend! K9 Visit
Yesterday we had a visit from Officer Laura and her dog, Jack, from El Paso County Sheriff's Office - EPCSO. They did a phenomenal job during their search through Manitou Springs High School and SILC. Throughout his work, Jack was very detail-oriented, and also detected all of the “plants” that Officer Laura used to confirm his accuracy. They will continue to visit throughout the school year.
