- Cohesion causes unusually high surface tension, like an invisible film on the water.
- Without Cohesion, surface tension could not occur, thus creating great problems with water remain water as we know it today.
Cohesion is NOT Adhesion!
- It's so much better! Cohesion keeps water together with other water, not how it connects to other substances.
- Without Cohesion, water wouldn't stick together, and plants would die because the water could not combat gravity to move up the stem, so it truly does keep us alive!
Cohesion makes water a more structured liquid than most others because of the hydrogen bonding present.
