Intergovernmental Agreement Between High School District 211 and the Village of Schaumburg for Use of Body Worn Cameras by Police on School District Property
Public Act 101-0652 states that all law enforcement agencies must implement the use of body worn cameras for all law enforcement officers and indicates usage requirements. Body worn cameras can be attached to the body of an on-duty officer and record, from a first-person perspective, events that take place while the officer is on patrol or completing other assignments as required by Public Act 101-0652. The Board reviewed a summary and agreement addressing the unique position of School Resource Officers in regard to the use of police-issued body worn cameras. The Board also authorized the Superintendent to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Schaumburg for use of the cameras on school property.
A summary of the recommendation is available here.

Two-way radios are used as critical communication tools inside and outside of schools, providing communication channels between administration, the School Resource Officer (SRO), security and supervision staff, and operations and maintenance staff. The Motorbo R7 portable two-way radios are digital radios designed to provide reliable communication.
The Board approved the purchase of 46 Motorbo R7 two-way radios, including programming, from Chicago Communications at a cost of $52,624. These replacement radios will be used by building administration, including SROs, in all five of the District’s large high schools.
