Greetings Corley Community,

Thank you for being such an amazing community! Corley Elementary continues to thrive because of YOU! We couldn't be luckier to have you as a support system as we maneuver through the end of the school year.

Georgia Milestones are underway with a successful implementation! With the beginning of May comes important events such as Field Day, the 5th Grade Ceremony, End Of Year Parties, and more! Please be on the lookout for correspondence from our school about these events and how we plan to partner with you with them!

Our school will also send emails and flyers about our upcoming Class Parties, Field Day, and more!

Safety Reminders (Student Arrival)

As a reminder, students should arrive between 8:15 AM-8:50 AM. Students that are dropped off in a parent's car should use the car rider lane between those times. However, if you are dropping your students off after 8:50 AM, please come into the building with your students to complete the official check-in process. There are occasions where Corley parents will need to use the front of the building as an entrance, we ask that a parent/guardian are able to assist their student into the building.

Teacher Appreciation Week

National Teacher Appreciation Week will be held during the week of May 8-12, 2023. The teachers at Corley have worked extremely hard to support all students. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to let them know how much you appreciate them. We are asking each student to write a note to a teacher who has supported them. Students and parents may write note to a teacher from this year or previous years. Letters were sent home with your student on April 27th. Students will return their cards to the Teacher Appreciation Booth, located in the front lobby, during the week of May 8-12. The cards will be delivered to the appropriate teacher. As a parent you are welcome to come up with any other way that you would like to celebrate your child’s teacher.

Berkmar High School Graduates!

Corley had a special visit from the Berkmar HS Class of 2023! Corley students lined the hallways to cheer for the high school seniors. It was incredible to see the parade through the eyes of our very own future Berkmar graduates. We are PROUD to be PATRIOTS!!

Kindergarten Registration

Corley Elementary implemented a successful Kindergarten Registration! If you weren't able to attend, we have opportunities for you to come to Corley to work with a group of staff members with the process!

Corley has 2 more upcoming Kindergarten registration opportunities: Saturday, April 29th, 9:00-1:00pm Wednesday, May 3rd, 3:45pm-6:30pm Please bring your future Kindergartener with you and check in at the front office!

GMAS Pep Rally

Georgia Milestones is off to a great start! Our Corley Scholars were able to participate in a Pep Rally to celebrate their hard work in preparing for this important assessment!

On April 26th, our entire Front Office was celebrated! We are so appreciative of everything that they do for our school and community! We are so lucky to have such a dynamic team that supports you when you visit Corley!

PBIS Celebration

The students at Corley Elementary had the opportunity to participate in the PBIS Celebration. Our students had a great time as they participated in great team building activities!

Corley Elementary's Instructional Leadership had a successful meeting as we discussed EOY activities, survey data, and a look ahead to next year! We are excited to share our findings with you soon!

May 1st - 31st is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month was first originated with Congress in 1977. Then in 1992, Congress passed a law to honor it annually designating May as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. We are excited to celebrate APPI during May!

Corley’s Asian/Pacific American Heritage Celebrations:

Be on the lookout for information from Ms. Choxom & Ms. Wooden who will provide Corley students an ALL ABOUT different AAPI regions fact-finding sheet. Students will be given a template to fill out with details such as: Food, clothing, landmarks, weather, sports, traditions.

Students’ Countries should be displayed by May 5.

Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

All visitors must check in at the welcome desk and please be prepared to provide some form of identification upon request.
Students should arrive between 8:15 AM- 8:50 AM
Morning announcements and the tardy bell rings at 8:50 AM
Dismissal bell rings at 3:15 PM.

If you are checking your child out early, please do so before 2:30 PM. This leaves our bus lanes open for bus arrivals. Also, please remember that a picture ID is required for all student check-outs. Thank you!
