SEAS Faith Formation
March 31, 2023
Note from the DRE
As we enter into Holy Week, I encourage you to talk to your children about the significance of each day from Palm Sunday right through to Easter Sunday. Below are some video links below that will help children to understand more about the Holy Week story and the story of Easter.
Here are some video links for you to view as a family-
The Story of Easter(The Triumphal Entry)
The Story of Easter-Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet
The Story of Easter-The Last Supper
The Easter Story-Beginners Bible
As a family you could also create a prayer space at home this week. On Good Friday when we are invited to walk with Jesus on his journey to the Cross on Calvary, why not make your own cross at home, from whatever materials you can find and place it on your front door. Whatever you choose to do as a family, I pray you have time to reflect on your many gifts as a family and take time to gather as a family during Holy Week and Easter.
God Bless,
Mrs. Driskill

As you dropped off your child, you may have noticed that the Second and Third level children were planting seeds a few weeks before spring break. Planting wheat seeds helped us ponder the words from John 12:24 as Jesus was preparing his disciples for his death and resurrection. I invite you to ponder this great mystery with us by reading the below parent page called "The Mystery of Life and Death."
Please see the below Parent Pages to learn more.
Elementary Faith Formation
One way we can learn more about Christ and grow closer to him is by praying through the Stations of the Cross. This can be difficult with children (and honestly even as adults!).
There are beautiful images of each station on the Elementary bulletin board. Under each station is a child friendly reflection. These same stations are also posted around the Children's Church. If you haven't had an opportunity to see them, I encourage you to read through the reflections, especially if you find Stations of the Cross to be challenging.
Edge- Middle School
The Edge students spent time in Adoration last week. There was a quick lesson about what Eucharistic Adoration is and why it is important to go. After the lesson we walked as group to the church and had adoration for 15 minutes before returning and having pizza. This Wednesday, March 29, we finished our Lent series 40. This last lesson focused on the Triduum and understanding the great love and mercy of God that is revealed to us through Jesus Christ’s Passion, death, and Resurrection.
Jordan will be attending the 7pm Mass on Sundays. All middle and high schoolers are invited to join him during Lent! We hope to see you there!
Life Teen- High School
Life Teen had a kickball social night this past Sunday which was really fun! This Sunday we will be starting our new series called After Exodus. This series will help the teens understand the Ten Commandments’ moral concepts to help guide their lives to be Jesus’ disciples. This will be our last series of the year and will be 4 lessons long. Each lesson will focus on different groups of the Ten Commandments.
Jordan will be attending the 7pm Mass on Sundays. All middle and high schoolers are invited to join him during Lent! We hope to see you there!
Confirmation
Vocation
This week in Confirmation class, we discussed how sometimes it can be hard to figure out who we are meant to be in this moment. We can begin by asking, “Who does God want me to be right now?” We each have the same universal vocation, the same call to holiness. We are called to seek, know, and love the Lord. But we are also called to live out our “particular” vocation. This is the vocation meant specifically for you, such as a married person, consecrated single life, priest, or religious sister.
When you begin to wonder about your particular vocation, it is important to remember that God only wants what is best for you. The Lord made each of you unique, and thus, He has a specific way for you to live out your particular vocation here on Earth. God is calling us to something specific, but sometimes it’s hard to listen to Him or we’re not sure how to listen to Him. One of the gifts of the Sacrament of Confirmation is that you will become more firmly united to Christ. This gift allows you to hear His call more clearly, but you still must work to develop your prayer life so you can truly listen to what He is telling you to do.
Join us on Sundays at 10:00am in the FFYC.
