The Viking Spotlight is the part in my weekly newsletter used to highlight and celebrate our students and staff anytime we can! If you would like your child acknowledged for something they have accomplished, whether on campus or off-campus, please feel free to fill out this google form HERE. I look forward to celebrating our Vikings and all of the great things they are doing!

Congratulations to Mrs. Trejo's Advisory for earning the most spirit points on 5-Star of ALL advisory classes so far this year!! 🎉 This achievement earned them front row seats at last Friday's rally! 💛 It's not too late for your advisory to win! Keep earning points on 5-star every opportunity you can! 😊

As a result, they earned a seat at the VIP table in the front of the 7th grade section at the rally! This also included free drinks and snacks!! Do you want a seat at the VIP table?!?! All you have to do is earn 5-Star points whenever you can!! 🌟

Wow, what an amazing week we had last week! It was so much fun seeing students participate in our first spirit week! Then we had a great turnout at Open House and it was amazing to meet so many parents/guardians! Lastly, we ended the week with Viking Day and a rally! The energy was infectious and I was so happy to see so many of you really get into it! Click HERE to view some awesome pictures from Viking Day and the rally! SIGs start this week!! Thank you to the students who voted on Jupiter for your top 3 SIGs. Students who did not vote were contacted multiple times to do so, and if they did not, they were assigned a SIG. Please note: SIG assignments are final, so there are NO SIG changes until next semester. I hope you all enjoy your SIGs this semester!!

We are officially 15 school days away from our first Progress Report of the year! What are you doing to ensure that you will get a good Progress Report? Are you bringing your iPad charged every day? Are you paying attention in class and asking the teacher questions when you are confused? Are you completing your assignments? Vikings, let's make sure you're doing the right thing and you put in the work to get the results that you desire!

Are you ready for another Music Monday?? 🎶 Congratulations to Mrs. Gonzalez's Advisory class for winning last week's Music Monday! Who will be our next winner?!?!

This past week was a very busy one, but wouldn't be possible without the hard work and dedication by many of our MVA Staff and Teachers!! 💛 All hands were on deck for our Williams Visit, Open House, lunch activities, and Viking Day! I am so grateful for my staff and teachers...thank you for all that you do to keep this ship moving in the right direction!! 💙

Are you interested in trying out for the cheer team or the cross country team?!?! Well, now is your chance because tryouts for those two sports start this week!! No experience necessary, however you must enroll in the after-school program in order to participate! Please see the flyers below for more information!

SUHSD Superintendent Aguirre, and San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan have thoughtfully collaborated on a "Back to School Safety Video" designed to be informative and focus on two specific topics: false threats to schools, and suspicious vehicles/attempted kidnapping. Use the form HERE to submit a photo taken with your school issued iPad of you and your classmates participating in our Spirit Days. The top participating Advisory each semester will earn a Pizza Party from the ASB.

Pictures submitted must CLEARLY show Vikings participating in the ASB Spirit Day ON CAMPUS for consideration (make this obvious). Photos that include inappropriate hand gestures, clothing attire, or suggest inappropriate behavior will not be taken into consideration and will be forwarded to MVA Administration for further review. All photos will be reviewed by the ASB.

Help our school be a safe place for you and your friends! If you have information on incidents surrounding bullying, vandalism, safety concerns, etc., report it anonymously to p3tips.com or use the app!

In an effort to help support our MVA students, we welcome any donations of school supplies and/or money. All funds would go directly to supporting our MVA students in the form of spirit shirts, celebrations, recognition awards, school supplies, and more.
