Superintendent's Message
As we enter November, a month of reflection and thanksgiving, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our district community. This year has revealed the resilience, unity, and unwavering support that define us.
I'm thankful for our exceptional educators, dedicated students, supportive parents, and hardworking support staff who have come together to make learning possible. Our community's generosity and compassion have been a source of hope.
In the spirit of gratitude, I encourage you all to take a moment to reflect on what you're thankful for and share your appreciation with others. Let's also recognize the unsung heroes within our district.
Together, let's make November a month of appreciation and unity, celebrating the strength of our district community. Thank you for being part of this incredible family.
Conference Time
Congratulations to our Cross County athletes competing at the state event this weekend. The boys team and Kailey Slevin will run on Saturday at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. The boys football team won the League title and begins the playoff run on Friday at 7pm at YHS Stadium against Kent Meridian. Proud of the over 300 high school athletes that participated this fall.
Just a reminder: all tickets are purchased online. Please visit the website for future ticket sales.
Christmas in the Park
The annual holiday event is on December 2 starting with a parade at 9am. Activities will be held in the community center, and our choirs and bands will perform throughout the day. The festivities end with the YHS Choir at 4:00pm and the park lighting at 4:30pm.
Come join this free event and enjoy some hot dogs, cookies and hot beverages. Don't forget the essay contest for all grade levels. This year's theme is "What is your holiday wish?"
With the cold temperatures this last week, it is good to review the district's weather delay and closure procedures. We monitor weather conditions daily and drive the roads early in the morning to check for safe travel. Our goal is to send messaging by 5:30am if school is delayed or closed. We post all changes on our website, social media and Flash Alert.
Learn more about our procedures and how to get up to date information when changes occur.
