We are truly blessed to have extremely dedicated parents leading our PTSA! Thank you to Tana Reischl, Rebecca Stevens, Leslie Baird, Kalea Hernandez, Jordan Wethington, and Heather Van Kleeck for your continued dedication to making our annual APEX Fundraising event a huge success. We are so grateful for the time that you spend making everything a success and for sharing your unique gifts and talents with our school community!

Thank you also to the amazing leaders from APEX. Robo Rob, Rockstar Ric, Showtime Shane, and Dazzling Denali! Your leadership lessons and impact on our students will be felt all year!

Thank you to all of our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, extended families, and literally anyone that pledged and supported our school! We also had so many parents sign up to volunteer to mark shirts, fill water cups, help with first aide, etc! Thank you to every spectator that took the time to support a student during the obstacle course and at our color run! Whether you gave time or were able to make a financial contribution you have a huge impact on our students and school!

Our Governing Board unanimously approved to seek voter authorization of a continuation of the existing override and funding for Student Safety.

This election will help preserve current fine arts and athletic programs such as art, general and instrumental music, and physical education, as well as maintain class sizes. The funds will also be used to attract and retain highly qualified teachers and support staff.

The total cost of the override for homeowners is a continuation of $21.27 per month property tax on the average assessed home value.

Your taxes will NOT increase as a result of passage of this override.

This funding is being structured to NOT INCREASE the projected tax levy.

This month we will be focusing on different topics each week of October.

October 2-6: What is bullying?

October 10-13: How can I be an upstander and not a bystander?

October 16-20: What are ways that I can include those around me?

October 23-27: Standing up to Bullying and Committing to Kindness!

We will be learning how to identify bullying and how to stop it from happening to you or the friends around you. We want to encourage our parents to ask their children about what they are learning over the next four weeks. You can also check out this website for parent resources.

We cordially invite you to participate in the West Wing Veterans Appreciation Assembly. Our students have been taught to honor and appreciate the invaluable role you played in safeguarding our nation's freedom. We extend our invitation to attend this special event. We invite all Veterans that are attending to join us for breakfast beginning at 8:45 am in the multipurpose room so that we may welcome you to the event with our Heroes Welcome at 9:30 am.

For the next month, our campus will focus on ensuring all students understand and model Respect and Compassion within the classrooms. We will be reteaching and reinforcing the following areas:

• Treat others the way you want to be treated
• Communicate effectively
• Work together
• Listen attentively
• See something, say something
