Principal's Message
Dear Thomas Families,
Our first grade teachers, Ms. Needham, Ms. Atkinson, Ms. Alleman, and Ms. Weber, are full of energy, patience, and kindness. Not only that, they are experts in phonics! During the first grade school year, students learn all types of spelling patterns that they apply to their reading and writing. It’s a year of gigantic academic growth, and seeing what students can do by the end of first grade (under the expert guidance of their teachers) is incredible.
The first grade teachers shared that they love getting to know the different cultures of their students, and studying Holidays Around the World. Thank you, first grade teachers!
Go Tigers,
Melissa Garris
VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLY
We will hold an event for veterans on Monday, November 13. If you have a veteran who has RSVPed for the event, an email with further instructions was sent last week. If you have not received the email with more details, please email Mrs. Neely in the front office at neely_jamie@dublinschools.net.
Please send students to school wearing red, white, or blue on Monday in honor of our veterans!
STACK IT UP IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION
During the week of November 13, students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will have the opportunity to participate in the World Sport Stacking Association “StackUp” during Physical Education. The WSSA is attempting to break the World Record for the most people sport stacking in multiple locations. In 2022, 737,863 stackers participated to break the previous STACK UP! record of 638,503.
According to Bob Fox, WSSA Founder, the STACK UP! is a wonderful way to bring together sport stackers across the globe. "Sport stacking is an activity enjoyed by all ages and cultures. It promotes hand-eye coordination, brain activation, fitness, teamwork, speed and lots of fun. We're excited to have another shot at setting a WSSA World Record."
If you have any questions, feel free to email Mrs. Burton at burton_jennifer@dublinschools.net.
Happy stacking!
FOOD DRIVE
