Elk Island Catholic Schools is committed to supporting the wellbeing of all. We endeavor to support staff and student wellbeing in mind, body and spirit through programming and education. As part of an Alberta Education mental health grant, EICS has partnered with PEPY, Local Knowledge Keepers and Father Kris Schmidt in a universal approach called, Here Comes the Sun. The project will integrate Faith, Indigenous Perspectives on health and well-being, as well as the PEPY model to empower staff and students, promote mental health and bring awareness into our schools.
Fostering faith, connection and community, we will walk forward together into a time of collective hope. Here comes the sun!
There is a STUDENT RETREAT DAY on OCTOBER 12 ... MESSAGE YOUR TEACHER THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED. IT IS FREE.
ONE more Parent needed for 5 - 30 min sessions through out the year. ... Regarding what can we do better to serve SILC students and families.

Hello from Mrs. Oikonen!
Welcome to October: Week 6 for grades 2- 6 and week 4 for our Kindergarten students. It's a short week this week. All whole class google meets will remain the same for October but we will see a few changes this month. Kindergarten whole class meets will be changing from 15 minutes to approximately 30 minutes. Students will also be participating in literacy groups where we will focus on letters, sounds, reading and writing. Your child will need a piece of paper or a white board for this meeting. Please check the October calendar to see the group that your child is in and what times they will be meeting. Check out some of the Virtual Presentations we will be participating in October. Please remember that the October calendar can change, so check back everyday.
