We hope that everyone is having an enjoyable and safe summer! We are only a few weeks away from starting the 2023-2024 school year. I am confident that this will be the best one yet for our students! I would like to share some important information with you that will better prepare you and your child for a successful start.

Ysleta Independent School District will be providing hundreds of families with school supplies for 23-24 school year. The items listed below are a few additional items our students in these grade levels need in order to support their

learning. These will be the only items you as a parent will be purchasing for this school year.

*ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN HEADPHONES/EARBUDS TO LEAVE IN CLASS.

• Jeans/Pants: Pants must be black jeans or black and/or Khaki slacks
• Uniform Capri Pants must be black or khaki
• Uniform shorts, skirts, skorts, uniform dresses must be black or khaki (must "pass below fingertips" test.
• No blue jeans, no carpenter/cargo, no hip huggers, no yoga/legging pants

• T-shirts must be black or golden without the Parkland Elementary Logo, nor dragging in length.
• School Spirit Shirts with Parkland Logo may be purchased in the front office.
• Cotton shirts: $12, Dri-fit: $15, Hoodies:$30 (cash and credit accepted)
• Zip up front jackets, allowed. No oversized hoodies. Students may be asked to remove jackets in the building if climate is suitable for learning. Hoodies may not be worn in the building.

• Any color allowed.
• NOT ALLOWED: House shoes, bedroom slippers (crocs), heels,heeleys, slip-on flats, high lace tennis shoes.

• Male and Female students may wear one stud earrings per ear or small hoops smaller than 1/2". They may only be worn on earlobes.
• Bangs must be worn to the side but the eyes must be clearly visible at all times.
• Colored Hair not allowed: red, green, blue, purple or other colors that are not a natural color.
• No artificial nails and no make-up is allowed.
