RECOGNITIONS AND WELCOMES
recognition of the d25 food services team
The Board and District 25 Administration honored, recognized, and thanked the District 25 Food Services Team for their commitment and contributions to the District 25 students, staff, and community.
Since the initial COVID-19 shutdown of March 2020, the D25 Food Services Team has distributed free meals weekly to the Arlington Heights community. That free meal total is at 781,452 and counting!

Several people addressed the Board during the public comments portion of the meeting. Those public comments begin at the 20:16 mark of the meeting and can be viewed by clicking here.
Public comments were also submitted via an online Google form prior to the meeting. Comments received prior to 12 pm (noon) on Thursday, March 18, 2021 were read aloud at the meeting during the allotted time. Our record keeping policy requires that the Assistant Superintendent for Business/CSBO, Stacey Mallek (the “Compliance Officer”) at least annually review the District’s contracts to determine whether the Tax Advantaged Obligations comply with the federal tax requirements applicable to each issue of the Tax Advantaged Obligations.
After review, it is Mrs. Mallek's determination that the District is in compliance with all the requirements for the Board's information.

MOTION: APPROVED
Award Thomas Middle School Roofing Replacement
The roofing sections that are slated to be replaced at Thomas Middle School have been recently identified as needing replacement in the near term due to the physical condition of the roof, in addition to recurring smaller leaks throughout the identified roof sections.
When adding all three bids, the total fiscal impact for this project is $164,800 with $27,500 in an allowance for any potential unforeseen conditions that may occur once the project commences.

Award of District Grass Cutting Service for 2021-2025
That the Board of Education award district-wide grass cutting services for 2021-2025 to Gilio Landscape Contractors in the amount of $255,424 for the 5-year term.
Based on the past growing seasons, we have added 1 additional week of service at the beginning of the season and 1 additional week at the end of the season to ensure grass areas are properly maintained throughout the entire growing season.

Honorable Dismissal of Part-Time Clerical Assistants (Contact Tracers), Resolution A
This recommendation is based on the reduction in part-time Clerical Assistant needs during the 2021-22 school year. By reducing the number of part-time Clerical Assistants, we protect the district from future employment obligations.

We are recommending the Honorable Dismissal of six Probationary Teachers. This recommendation is based on the decision to decrease the number of teachers employed.

STRATEGIC PLAN, 2021-2025
Over the past six months, a team of 34 people met via Zoom on ten occasions to work through a very detailed and robust Strategic Planning Process. The process was facilitated by Dr. Perry Soldwedel from the Consortium for Educational Change.
The Board reviewed the proposed version of the 2021 - 2025 Strategic Plan at this meeting. The overview of the strategic plan can be found by clicking here.

KINDERGARTEN RESEARCH PLAN
The Board recently asked that the District reignite the discussion and review at the research shared on Full-Day Kindergarten in 2017. This item was on the agenda to ensure that the District and Superintendent Dr. Bein is gathering the information that the Board is interested in reviewing.
Dr. Bein plans to gather and report on the following as related to Full-Day Kindergarten at a future meeting:
- Enrollment Projections & Needs
- Facilities
- Cost
- Estimated Timeline
