A Few Words from the Principal
Quarter 1 comes to a close on Thursday, October 19. Teachers have updated grades and many missing assignments have now been entered as zeros. Please encourage your student to reach out to their teachers to get work turned in before the end of the quarter on Thursday.
I have also included a link below to some resource to help parents support their students at home with school work.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to teachers, counselors, or me if we can help.
Take care,
Jennifer Smith
Principal
If your student shares with you that they are being bullied, please reach out to us here at MTMS or complete the online reporting form:

Saluting our Veterans
We would like to recognize the veterans near and dear to us here at Monticello Trails Middle School on Veteran's Day. Please take a few minutes to share the names of relatives that are veterans or are actively serving to protect our country and freedoms.
Friday, November 10, we would like to invite those service people that are nearby to join us for donuts and a short celebration starting at 7:45am.
Please clink on the link below to provide us with the names of relatives that are veterans or are actively serving to protect our country and freedoms. As well as to RSVP for those service people who will be joining us for our celebration on November 11.
Please have these submitted by November 1 to allow for us to finalize plans.
Red Ribbon Week
MTMS will be joining schools all around the country in celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Each grade level will have a different guest speaker with the purpose of educating students in our building to help them lead healthy, safe, and drug-free lifestyles.
6th Grade: Officer Cole, MTMS SRO
7th Grade: Sunflower House
8th Grade: Cooper Davis Memorial Foundation
From StuCo
Student council has been volunteering this month at HappyBottoms, Kansas City's diaper bank. However, we still need your help to make our school diaper drive a success! Through the end of October, we are collecting children's diapers and baby wipes. Let's help families around Kansas City keep their children clean, dry, and healthy!
From PTA
Calling all MTMS families! Our PTA "Just Give It" fundraising campaign launched TODAY! You should have received an email today with all the details.
Our PTA uses the money raised to help with many school and student needs. When you donate, you are entered into raffles for AMAZING prizes! Also, the hall with the most donations per grade will earn a special treat!
Donating is easy - text WOLVESPTA to 53555 for a link to our site. Thanks for your help in making this a success! Got questions? Email mtms.wolves.pta@gmail.com.
Yesterday we partnered with StuCo to promote our Papa John’s restaurant giveback. Thank you, students, for helping spread the word with Mr. Slice! We hope you enjoyed some pizza and a Chief’s win!
And follow us on our website, BandApp, Facebook, and Instagram.
