Winter Holiday Help
With winter holidays quickly approaching we wanted to share some holiday resources within our area. If your family can benefit from holiday support please consider utilizing one of these resources. Many of these community organizations have firm deadlines. These deadlines are approaching quickly.
9th grade registration for current 8th graders
9th Grade Registration (23-24 school year) Information Night at CRHS
December 6th @ 6:30pm
Please join the Coon Rapids High School Administration, Counseling Department, Leaders of the BioMedical Sciences & Engineering and Department Leads for an information night about registering for high school. We will be discussing general high school information, graduation requirements, elective course options and the registration timeline and process. There will also be a parent presentation about the Biomedical Sciences and Engineering program and how students will be exposed to STEM-related careers and experiences through their high school academics.
Teachers and counselors will be available to talk through any concerns or answer any questions. For more information, please call CRHS at 763-506-7100
Knowledge Bowl
Knowledge Bowl is a fun, fast-paced, academic competition (after-school here at CRMS and at evening
meets that take place at middle schools around the Twin Cities), where students answer questions about history, literature, mathematics, science, current events, and everything in between.
Knowledge Bowl is open to any CRMS 6th, 7th, or 8th grader who NEEDS a challenge, to hang out with a smart group of friends, or WANTS something interesting to do after school on Wednesdays (3:10-5:10) through February!
Our next practices are on Weds. Nov. 16 and Nov. 30. Students will need to take the late activity bus route or have a ride home after each practice at 5:10 p.m. Come ready to flex your smarts!
Toys for Joy
Toys for Joy is now taking applications for holiday support. Applications must be submitted prior to Nov. 23rd. Please utilize the QR code or this link to access the application.
CRMS Falcon Nest
Coon Rapids Middle School will be holding monthly food-shelf distributions. These distributions will be held on the third Thursday of every month. If you are unable to attend a distribution but have a need for food shelf support, you may contact your grade level social worker to schedule an appointment.
Anoka-Hennepin Technology Protection Plan- New for 2022-23
Technology plays an important role in preparing students for life, and Chromebooks are utilized as a daily learning tool in Anoka-Hennepin middle and high school classrooms. Anoka-Hennepin students in grades 6-12 are assigned a Chromebook from the school district to ensure access to technology systems that support classroom learning.
Over 28,000 Chromebooks will be distributed to students the first week of school. As careful as students and schools are, accidents do happen each year - and hundreds of Chromebooks are returned at the end of the school year with damages. Read more about how you can protect you and your child. The last day to sign up is December 5th.
