Miller Elementary Weekly Update
Week of Feb. 16th & 23rd
Mrs. Goodman's Message
Hello Miller Families!
I hope this weekly update finds your family kicking off a fun-filled 4-day weekend! We certainly wrapped up an amazing week celebrating kindness and love here at school. Thank you for helping your child dress up each day for our Random Acts of Kindness Spirit Days, sending in class Valentines, and a great big thank you to all our party volunteers. These are the days your child will remember as they look back on preschool and kindergarten. You can ask them if they played a game, listened to a story or made a fun craft this past week!
Speaking of crafts, check out the cute place mats, butterfly candy craft and hearts we dropped off at the Avenue at Aurora! Your children made these cute items for our senior friends at the Avenue and they greatly appreciated this special treat.
This upcoming week we will host our important Kick Off to Kindergarten Parent Meeting on Tuesday, February 20th at 6:30 PM at the Aurora High School Auditorium. This parent only meeting is for all our families who will be enrolling their child in kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. Since your child is currently enrolled in the Aurora Schools, there will be fewer steps for you to complete. We will make sure you receive the correct enrollment folder at the Kick Off Meeting. In the next month or two, I will be sharing more information about the transition for our kindergartners going to Craddock for first grade and details for our preschoolers who will be staying in our program for another year!
Finally, this newsletter will serve as communication for the next two weeks since we have a shortened week ahead. I will be sending out specific communication to our kindergarten families related to second semester progress using our reporting system Gather. Be on the lookout for a Final Forms message early next week regarding all the details to access your child's report.
Have a great long weekend!

School Counselor Updates: Mrs. Ambrosia
Hello Families! Kindergarten students should be proud to share that they have mastered the ZONES of Regulation. They’re mini-experts at explaining how they feel. We’ve also been working with learning some coping skills incorporating breathing, finger tapping and tracing. Another enjoyable activity has been listening to A Little SPOT Series – Diane Alber. These are books that help the students understand feelings while incorporating coping strategies.
This week, we will be celebrating kindness! Please enjoy these Kindness at Home activities from The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.
As always, please feel free to reach out at any time if your student would benefit from extra support during their school day. It’s been great to watch them grow as Greenmen!

Miller Parent Pick-Up and Attendance Reporting
This is a reminder that we are using our Miller Attendance and Parent Pick-up Form as an easy communication tool to report your child will be absent or you need to pick them up from school early. You still need to use the Alternative Bus Stop Form linked in this newsletter if you need your child's bus to change. You do not need to report if they will not be riding the bus in the morning due to an absence or illness on this form.
If you want to change your child from a bus rider to a parent pick-up, please scan the QR code below or click the button to fill out our Google form. This can be done from any device and your reply will be sent immediately to our secretary, Mrs. Wolf.
If you need an alternative bus stop or a change in busing, we also have attached the transportation forms to change your child's busing information. These forms need to be completed and sent to our transportation department at transportationinfo@aurora-schools.org
As a reminder, you can send in cash or check made out to the Aurora City Schools and we will add any amount to your child's lunch account. Please send in money in a clearly labeled envelope so we know to add this amount to your child's account!
