Fall Cleaning for a good cause
It's time to clean out your closet and drawers. Anna ISD is partnering with Trusted World to provide for those in need here in Anna and surrounding areas. We are having a clothing drive October 24-28, which is also Red Ribbon Week. Each campus will have drop-off areas for donations. Trusted World will collect the donations, sort the items, and put them in their system to ensure they go to families needing them. Trusted World helps schools meet the needs of students in need and their entire families. For more information on how to help, log on to trustedworld.org.
Bullying Prevention Month
Dyslexia Awareness Month in October aims to support those with this learning difficulty. In addition to raising awareness, Dyslexia Awareness Month helps society understand dyslexia better, which in turn helps those with it. For information on AISD's Dyslexia program, visit the Special Services page on Anna ISD's website.
Anna ISD Bond 2022
Anna ISD will be over capacity at two campuses by 2023 and five campuses by 2024. Go to AnnaISDBond.com to learn how the 2022 Bond Scope will help address our fast-growing district.
Special Olympics Activities
Last Friday, Anna ISD hosted Special Olympics Bocce Ball. Ten other districts were in attendance: Blue Ridge, Bonham, Denison, Detroit, Grayson County Flight, Howe, Melissa, Prosper, Sherman, and Whitesboro, for a total of 280 athletes competing. We had several Anna Coyotes win ribbons.
The Anna ISD police department has a new TIP email address. If you hear or see something suspicious, please email the Anna ISD PD at safetyandsecurity@annaisd.org. This email is a one-way communication tool; you will not receive a response.
Additionally, you can download the iWatch Texas app. The tips on the app are anonymous and will help keep schools safe and secure by alerting the appropriate personnel of any potential threats.
