Greetings AOC Families,

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! This Friday, there is no school for Veteran's Day.

We also have some great news to share and some staffing changes! Our new Office Manager and Registrar is Carla Tuttle (ktuttle@hartdistrict.org) and she begins with us on November 14th. She is currently the Office Manager of Canyon High School. She is very excited to join our AOC Team. For any office questions, please call us in our main office or email jfine@hartdistrict.org. And, at this time, we have a substitute named Brenda Hunter (bhunter@hartdistrict.org) , the former Office Manager of West Ranch and she is managing our office until Carla begins. Mrs. Perkins ( kperkins@hartdistrict.org ), our office assistant, and Mrs. Raduziner (nraduziner@hartdistrict.org) , our attendance clerk are in the main office and they can both be reached with any questions.

It is Admissions Season, for any of your friends of family that are interested in applying to AOC for the fall of 2023, they must attend a mandatory meeting. The zoom meetings begin this week. Parents must register to receive a link to the meeting. Please see this link for more information. In order to receive an application, they must attend one of the mandatory online information meetings.

Hello Academy of the Canyons Families & Students!

As we approach the holiday season, we are happy to announce our holiday donation campaign! In the spirit of giving, we are looking for gift card donations that will go to AOC families in need of food and support during the holiday season. We appreciate gift card donations to grocery stores (Ralphs, Vons, Albertsons, Stater Bros, Food4Less, Whole Foods, Walmart) and/or department stores (Kohls, Target, Old Navy, JCPenney, Macy's, Ross, TJMaxx). If you can donate, please drop off your donation to Mrs. Perkins in the AOC main office on the dates listed below.

If you are interested in receiving holiday support please mark the appropriate box in the form. *Please keep in mind that AOC cannot guarantee everyone who signs up will receive holiday support as items will be limited and donation based only. Responses will be kept confidential and you will be contacted separately to receive the donation.

Dear Academy of the Canyons Families,

We are so thankful for our teachers and staff at AOC! ROOTS, the PTA of the school, is planning a special Thanksgiving luncheon on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10:50 AM to show our appreciation for all they do for our students. The luncheon will take place at AOC in the Staff Lounge. We ask that you prepare/purchase a lunch item on the list and drop it off with the front office on November 17th. If your item is a hot dish, please drop it off at 10:30 AM. If you are bringing a dessert/drinks, etc., please drop off it with the front office anytime between 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. We will set up a lovely luncheon for all the teachers and staff to enjoy. If you wish to bring something not on the list, feel free to note it in the comments section to avoid duplicates.

COC Thanksgiving Holiday is only from 11/24-11/27. You are expected to attend COC classes. We will see you back in school on Monday, 11/28! Have a great break!

The COC Music Department presents their Studio Jazz Ensemble on 12/8 at 7pm.

Located on the campus of College of the Canyons, AOC is proud to be the middle college high school in the William S. Hart Union High School District serving students 9th-12th grades in the Santa Clarita Valley. Students have the opportunity to earn between 24 and 44 transferable college units, prior to receiving their high school diplomas. Upon graduation, the majority of Academy students pursue their post high school education by continuing at COC and completing their college transfer requirements in only one year after high school. Other AOC students go directly into a four-year university, bringing their community college units with them and placing themselves well into their freshman and sophomore years at the college level. While attending AOC as a high school student, community college tuition is waived for established California residents.
