Moore Street School
Week of April 10, 2023
Greetings
Good Day Everyone
I trust that everyone had a great Spring Break. Traditionally, the return to school following Spring Break signifies the beginning of the end of the school year. With the end of the school year quickly approaching we cannot lose focus of the upcoming EOC/EOG Georgia Milestones Assessments: EOG (grades 6-9)Test Dates May 1-9, 2023 and EOC (grades 9-12)Test Dates May 8-12, 2023.
Important announcements: Any 9-12 grade student who is interested in playing football this upcoming season there is a mandatory parent meeting April 12, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Dublin High School Auditorium. Additionally the free physical for all student athletes will be held April 19, 2023 beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the Dublin High School gym.
We will protect instructional time at all cost. We do not want to use instructional time dealing with behavior issues. As we announce daily please encourage your son/daughter to use their self regulation skills.
Attendance continues to be an area of focus. We ask that early dismissals and tardies be limited to the absolutely necessary. If for some reason your child is not going to be in school please notify the school. If your child is not in tier 1 of our attendance protocol they will be placed on an attendance recovery plan. Students on attendance recovery plans will be required to stay for evening school to recover days missed or make up tardies/early dismissals. Please review the attendance protocol attached below.
Health/Safety remains a primary focus. Weekly COVID-19 testing is ongoing. If you would like for your child to receive weekly onsite testing please request a form, complete, sign, and return it. Testing is just one of the many mitigation strategies we are using. Students are encouraged to wear a mask while in the building, to wash or sanitize their hands frequently, and to watch their social distancing. As we enter the cold and flu season we ask that you monitor your children closely and if they are sick please keep them at home.
Dress Code-(hoodies) students are not allowed to wear hoods or hoodies on their heads while in the building. After the 3rd infraction he/she will not be allowed to wear articles of clothing with hoods attached. Also please remember that tights are not permitted as stand alone pants.
Parents, as a reminder, if your phone number changes please notify the school with the updated information. Also remember students may use evening school hours to make up attendance. Six evening school hours can replace one absent day. Our school hours are from 7:30 a.m.-2:10 p.m. Our evening school hours are 2:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. Monday -Thursday.
