Celebrating School Bus Drivers Day
A Message from Superintendent Carmen Ghysels
Dear Parents & Community Members,
As we end the month of April and roll into May, we are celebrating and recognizing the many contributions of our incredible staff members and the positive difference they make in the lives of our students.
On Tuesday, we celebrated California School Bus Drivers Day and recognized our awesome transportation team for all they do to keep our kids safe. They did a lot over the past 12 months during COVID to step into whatever role was needed to serve our kids, and our team, and we so appreciate them. Friday is School Principal’s Day, and then we have the following staff celebrations in May:
Week of the Teacher - May 3-7, 2021
National Teacher Appreciation Day - May 4, 2021
School Lunch Hero Day - May 7, 2021
National School Nurses Day - May 12, 2021
Week of the Classified Employee - May 17 -21, 2021
At our next board meeting on May 5, several resolutions will go before our board in recognition of our employees.

Safety is EVERYONE’S responsibility!
No matter how extensive our safety measures are at our school facilities, we can’t stay safe without your help. We urge all families and students to please put safety first!
Your actions, your student’s actions, and your family's actions impact everyone. What you do when you’re off-campus affects the health and safety of those on campus and their families.
We need to be safe so we all stay healthy.
We need to stay safe so students and parents of the Class of 2021 can attend in-person ceremonies and graduates can “walk” in their ceremony
We need to stay safe so students can continue to participate in athletics.
Please remember, if a student is required to quarantine, they must remain at home. They should NOT leave to socialize with friends, go to school, go to work, be around other households, or participate in sports or other extracurricular activities.
If a student is sick and/or has COVID symptoms, please quarantine, follow the directions from the school nurse, and refrain from going out in public.
You make a difference. Please help us stay safe and follow ALL COVID-19 safety protocols!
When is the last day of school?
Based on the number of snow days we’ve had this school year (one), our last day of school will be on Friday, June 18, 2021.
2021-2022 school year
We plan to transition back to full school days and our original bell schedules with mitigation measures beginning on August 31, 2021 - the first day of the 2021-2022 school year.
That's all for now.
Stay safe,
Carmen Ghysels
