Teachers

The Future Educators Academy has 3 new teachers working with our students. Mr. Futral teaches Pre AP Algebra I and Pre AP Geometry. Mrs. Stamper teaches AP Human Geography and AP World History. Mrs. Penney teaches Pre AP English I and Pre AP English II. Each teacher also works with Dual Credit Students and facilitates Project Based Research.

Summer Bridge and Summer Boost Activities

ESC Region 12: Bridge Program @ Waco ISD

Dr. Christine Holecek

Dr. Holecek is the Dean of the Future Educators Academy. Her passion is to help grow the education profession and have the ability to develop teacher leaders. In fact, over the years, She has had the opportunity to mentor teachers and help them grow into leadership roles. Her career consists of working at McLennan Community College, Heart of Texas Workforce, Education Service Center Region 12, and Waco ISD. She wrote an article for the Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE) in 2016 entitled Developing Teacher Leaders in CTE. She presented the findings at the National VISION Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dr. Holecek is excited that the culmination of her 30-year career in education will impact Future Educators and create teacher leaders even before they enter the profession. Think how successful these young men and women will be once they return to Waco ISD to begin their careers as educators.

Event Information

PTECH Family Orientation

The PTECH Family Orientation is scheduled for September 7th. The meeting will be held at South Waco Elementary Cafeteria beginning at 6:00 p.m. This meeting is held in conjunction with Waco ISD Advanced Academics. A light meal and refreshments will be served. Come join us to learn about our program and where your students attend their PTECH classes.

Benefits of our Program:



  • Opportunity to graduate with an Educator Aide 1 certification, college credit hours, and or an Associate Degree at no cost to the student or parents/guardians
  • Dual-credit courses mirroring a college setting offered in partnership with McLennan Community College
  • Support teams provided to help students throughout their studies
  • Organizational Skills on how to study, plan, take notes, and manage time are incorporated into all high school courses.
  • Academic counseling to help students develop skills needed to be successful
  • College and career advising to plan future career and education options and opportunities
