Community Partners Network
Comal ISD
Thanks To Our Recent Partners
RBFCU
Community partner RBFCU hosted and sponsored Emerging Leaders of Comal ISD for three sessions this fall. Participating campuses (CHS, CLHS, DHS, MECHS, PHS, and SVHS) met at RBFCU to present their financial literacy presentations, tour the campus, and learn fine dining etiquette presented by Sarah Permenter. True Flavors catered a formal lunch for students to practice their new skills and dine with RBFCU leadership.
Los Gallos
Thank you to community partner Los Gallos and Denise Brown for donating 250 reusable grocery bags to our campus food pantry project. Students will have ease when transporting their food home each week in stronger bags.
Texas Hill Country Kiwanis Club and HCCPHS Key Club
When Texas Hill Country Kiwanis Club learned of many students at ASES in need of coats before the weather turned cold, they sprung into action to collect coats. They took it even further by enlisting the help of HCCPHS Key Club to collect coats, BSB Chamber of Commerce to be used as a drop-off site, and Bulverde Thrift Store to set aside newly donated coats to sell to Kiwanis at a discounted price. Truly a great example of giving hearts and bringing community together to assist students at ASES.
Thank You Comal ISD School Board Trustees
Each January, we honor our board trustees as community volunteers who serve on our school board. The 2024 School Board Recognition theme is: Locally Elected, Community Connected.
In Texas, school board members are elected by community members who trust them to do what's best for students. This connection ensures that board members are accountable to local voters, attuned to the needs of their communities, and dedicated to a brighter future.
We recognize our school board trustees as partners in education who volunteer their time to make the mission of Comal ISD, "a growing district of learners and achievers, providing opportunities for all, by working together as a community, and focusing on students current and future needs" come to life. Thank you to President Russ Garner, Vice President Tim Hennessee, Secretary Courtney Biasatti, Treasurer Amanda Jones, Trustee Jason York, Trustee Michelle Ross, and Trustee David Krawczynski.

Program Spotlight
🌞 National School Counseling Appreciation Week 🌞
National School Counseling Week is celebrated annually during the first week of February. Counselors provide students with academic, college/career and social/emotional development needs from elementary to high school. They also partner with parents and teachers to focus on positive ways to enhance every student’s educational growth. With 77 school counselors, CISD honors and celebrates the work that our counselors do for every student, families, and colleagues throughout the year.
On February 9, we are hosting an appreciation event to say 'thank you'. To coincide with this year's theme, we are looking to provide every counselor a "Sunshine" bag, and also give away fun door prizes. We are seeking donations such as gift cards (restaurant, retail/shopping, home goods, food/grocery, pampering, etc.) or yellow themed sunshine bag items (candy/gum, snacks/drinks, personal care items, notepads/pens, etc.). If you would like to help, please contact Camille Montoya, Communications Coordinator, at camilla.montoya@comalisd.org.
❤️ Comal ISD Love the Bus Week ❤️
Join us in celebrating our drivers February 12-16! Each day, we would like to provide appreciation items to our transportation employees. We are seeking donations such as candy/gum, grab-n-go snacks/drinks for breakfast and afternoon treats. Partners can also donate fun items for bus drivers to treat their riders and decorate their bus such as candy, pencils, stickers, window clings, holiday decor, etc. If you would like to help, please contact Camille Montoya, Communications Coordinator, at camilla.montoya@comalisd.org.
👷 Career & Technical Education Month 🧑🏭
Each February, Comal ISD is excited to celebrate Career and Technical Education (CTE) to showcase the value and importance of career and technical education in public schools. CTE provides all students with the skills needed to reach their career goal by offering the opportunity to achieve industry-based certifications and gain technical, high-level skills to be competitive in the global marketplace immediately upon graduation.
CTE courses at the high school level are organized by career clusters including agriculture, food and natural resources; architecture and construction; arts, A/V technology and communications; business, management, administration and marketing; career development; education and training; finance government and public administration; health science; hospitality and tourism; human services; information technology; law, public safety, corrections and security; manufacturing; science technology, engineering and math; and transportation, distribution and logistics, automotive and aviation.
How can you partner? Industry experts are always needed to support these programs in the classroom and in the field. Please see the flyer below for more information, or reach out to one of our Academic and Career Advisors to host a student lunch and learn for your company.

2024 New Braunfels Walk for Autism
In Comal and surrounding counties, over 30,000 individuals are living with autism. That means that you or someone you know has a close connection to a child or individual who lives with autism and whose daily lives are challenged by this diagnosis. New Braunfels had their first Walk for Autism in 2019 and this event has become a critical part of increasing services provided to families raising children with Autism. The incredible involvement of NBISD, CISD, the McKenna Center, and our other community partners has allowed for Any Baby Can-NB to provide services and supports for families raising individuals on the spectrum. All proceeds stay local to fund critical, one-of-a-kind programs at Any Baby Can-New Braunfels. April is National Autism Awareness Month. The New Braunfels Walk for Autism will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Canyon High School.
