This interactive Bible time is a great way for your family to gather around God's Word and read, listen, watch, sing, and do activities together that help you learn more about God's great love for you in Jesus.

What gift would you give to Jesus?

The star. Placed high in the heavens, it pointed to the place where the Savior had been born. In the East, Magi saw it. These “wise men” who studied the stars knew this bright star was a sign that pointed to the birth of the King of the Jews. God used the star to lead them to Judea. Once

there, they looked in the place where they would expect a new king to be born—in Jerusalem, in the king’s palace. Instead, they found jealous King Herod and learned from the scribes that the Christ was prophesied to be born in Bethlehem. Once again, the star led them—right to the child Jesus. Overjoyed, they went in the house and offered Jesus gifts. Warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, the Wise Men returned to their country another way. In another dream, God told Joseph to flee to Egypt with his family to escape the wrath of the duped King Herod.

Glory to You, God, for keeping Your promise to send a Savior. We praise and thank You for the gift of Jesus. Amen.

The Wise Men bowed down and gave Jesus gifts. Talk about the ways you worship Jesus.

The Wise Men gave gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Most likely, Joseph was able to use money from these items to help support his family when they fled to Egypt.

The three gifts from the Wise Men remind us of Christ’s roles: the gold for King, the incense for great High Priest, and the myrrh for Jesus’ death and resurrection to be our Savior.

Jesus came to be the Savior of all people, the Jews, the non-Jewish (Gentile) Wise Men, you and me, and the whole world!

Oh come, let us worship and bow down. Psalm 95:6

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Dear Jesus, thank You for coming at Christmas as a humble, human baby to be our Savior and King. Help us to share that wonderful good news with everyone! In Your name we pray. Amen
