Iowa Story
In an effort to show the Iowa Story behind teachers who are successfully blending or flipping their classroom, AEA Learning Online has been creating video vignette interviews with several Iowa K-12 teachers of many different curricular areas. Hear from teachers as they share their classroom learning model, benefits and challenges that they have worked to overcome, professional development that supported their instructional practices, their learning expectations and more. Included in this are also interviews with districts that are blending professional development.
Since the past year with the pandemic forced districts to change student learning styles, AEA Learning Online has also expanded the Iowa Story to include teachers who share how their instruction changed during the pandemic.
We are always looking for additional teachers in Iowa willing to share their story. If you are interested or know someone who might be please contact Denise Krefting (dkrefting@aealearningonline.org) or Melissa Wicklund (mwicklund@aealearningonline.org)
Cleaning Up Your Virtual Classroom
Things have changed significantly during Remote Learning, but one thing hasn't. We still need to clean up classrooms for the end of the year. Wait, what? Didn't we already do that? Well, most of us have gone in and cleaned up the physical space in our buildings, yes, but we also need to clean up our VIRTUAL space. There are some steps to take with you GOOGLE Classroom to finalize it for the end of the year.

Teachingbooks to the Rescue
Of course, I am sending positive, healthy vibes! To be on the safe side, consider setting aside some advance plans for emergencies using TeachingBooks.net. Each month, they compile lesson plan ideas for grades PreK-8. Spread the word to staff and check out September's ideas.
And the good news keeps coming....
- TeachingBooks offers customizable, multi-level lesson ideas to meet instructional needs. Watch this 2 minute video to learn more.
- Check out their picture book activity kits that are compiled for all ages! I have yet to meet someone who doesn't enjoy a good picture book!
