DEADLINE TO SCHEDULE YOUR PROJECT INTERVIEW

Saturday, July 15 at 6:00PM

Members will schedule an appointment for each of their projects using the SignUpGenius website. An appointment MUST be made for all non-livestock 4-H project evaluations.

What if I have multiple projects to schedule? - No problem. Be sure to schedule at least 20 minutes between each appointment time so you aren't rushed. Don't schedule two project appointments at the same time! If the projects are judged on different days, just click the Back to Sign-Up button after scheduling for each event/day. That will take you back to the appointment page. ONLY MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR PROJECTS THAT YOU MADE A FAIR ENTRY FOR.

What if I'm showing an animal the same day as an interview for another 4-H project? - Just schedule an appointment for a time that is available, and we'll work with you that day to make sure you can do both. It may require a parent or sibling walking over to the interview check-in table to let us know you're showing your animal.

Most non-livestock projects are being evaluated in the Activities Tent this year. We're excited to have a new bigger tent! There is plenty of room to bring lawn chairs and hang out while members are being evaluated. This is a great time to sit, chat, and enjoy the fellowship of the fair!

While fair ticketing is online this year, you may need to purchase or pick up tickets/parking permits. If so, these are the pre-fair office ours for the Senior Fair Office.

Franklin County Junior Fair Board is participating in Fight the Hunger / Stock the Trailer Food Drive sponsored by Farm Credit Mid America. Farm Credit Mid America is giving three top cash prizes to the county fairs that donate the most pounds of food to their local food bank. The cash awards for 1st place are $5,000, 2nd place $3,500, and 3rd place $2,500. The awards are to help the county fairs with 4-H and Junior Fair Youth activities. Please help us collect food for the Hilliard Food Panty (which suffered losses from a recent fire) and the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. We can only accept food items during fair week, July 17-23, 2023.

The drop-off location is on the Southeast side of the Burke building in the tan enclosed trailer.

Did you know that all profits from the 4-H Pop Stand go to sending kids to camp, funding the 4-H recognition program and awards, and supporting year-round 4-H programming? Donations to the 4-H Pop Stand help tremendously in funding these programs. Please consider donating one or more of the items requested.

Jr. Fair Activities Tent

Pork Dinner Tickets are available for sale in the 4-H pop stand located outside of the livestock Burke Building. Single tickets are just $10 and if you purchase 20 or more tickets in one transaction, tickets are just $8 each! A limited quantity of tickets will be sold on the day of the event for $12.

This affordable dinner includes:

• Roasted Pork Loin prepared by 4-H Council

• Choice of 2 sides (corn, baked beans, baked potatoes, salad, watermelon, or potato chips)
• Delicious dinner roll with honey butter, dessert, and drink!!!

Funds raised support camp scholarships,

county 4-H awards, leadership opportunities for youth,

and training for volunteers. Invite your friends!

This is a great meal for a great cause!

The Franklin County Fair needs volunteers to make it a success! There are a lot of opportunities to work a two-hour shift or less. Volunteer help is needed at the Ohio 4-H Mobile Design Lab and the Nationwide Children's Hospital Kids Tent. Individuals that aren't interested in interacting with fair-goers can even sign up to help with trash collection in the morning.

Ohio 4-H Teen Leadership Council (TLC) applications for the 2023-24 year are now available and can be found on our website at go.osu.edu/TLC! Current TLC members who wish to continue their service must re-apply.

• Applications and more information about the group can be found online at: go.osu.edu/TLC. Please note: applications (and other materials, including letters of recommendation and program fees) are due by Friday, August 11, 2023. Applications require reference and signature from a county 4-H professional. At this point, you'll need to act fast! Don't wait until the last minute. Beth and Rachel plan to take a little vacation time in August.
  
• The term for selected individuals will be September 1, 2023-August 31, 2024.
