Attendance Matters!
Arriving to school on time is crucial. The doors open at 8:15 and the tardy bell rings at 8:40, just before daily announcements begin! Students must be INSIDE the building before 8:40 to avoid being marked late.
Attendance is essential for scholastic success. The compulsory attendance laws of Missouri require district resident children between the ages of 7 and 16 years old to attend school. If a child will be absent for any reason, a parent/guardian should notify the school office and send in a doctor's note if applicable.
We are excited to invite you to participate in our K-12 parent/guardian survey. Your feedback is instrumental in our continuous efforts to enhance the educational experience for your children. This survey aims to gather insights on various aspects of our programs, curriculum, and support services. Your perspectives will play a crucial role in shaping the future of education in our community. We value your input and appreciate your time and commitment to ensuring the success and well-being of our students. Together, let's create an educational environment that truly meets the needs of our vibrant Ozark community. Thank you for your participation and partnership in this important endeavor.
"I invite all to take part in our parent/guardian survey, which is a vital tool in refining our educational efforts. Your perspectives help chart the course for excellence in learning. Together, we can shape a brighter future for our children. Thank you for your partnership in education."
Portrait of a Graduate
Throughout the year, South focuses on nine character traits that we want all students in Ozark Public Schools to have mastered by the time they graduate. Each month we focus on one of the Portrait of a Graduate words. Classroom teachers nominate one student from their class who best exhibits that character trait. South then recognizes those students with an all-school assembly in which their parents are invited to attend. Out of the twenty-eight students nominated, one student is chosen as "Top Tiger" and is recognized at the monthly Ozark School board meeting for going above and beyond displaying the character trait.
Community “Family” Time
Each grade level will continue to experience family time on their assigned day. This will be part of their weekly routine. Just a reminder, this time is for students and teachers "grade level families." The schedule will continue as follows:
Day 1 - Fourth Grade
Day 2 - Third Grade
Day 3 - Second Grade
Day 4 - First Grade
Day 5 - Kindergarten

Wellness Information for Birthdays & Celebrations
Attention Parents:
We know you want to celebrate your child’s birthday, and we want to celebrate with you! However, this year any food provided for students outside of the meal programs must also meet federal nutrition guidelines. That means any food brought into the classroom for celebrations, parties, and snack time must meet the guidelines.
Here is a list of nutritional snacks that can be used for classroom celebrations - https://bit.ly/HealthySnackExamples
We appreciate your help in following our district wellness plan for our students. You may also consider a non-food alternative to celebrate a birthday, such as stickers, pencils, bubbles, sidewalk chalk etc. Providing a non-food item helps our students who have dietary restrictions feel included.
