Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this newsletter finds you well after a week of very unpredictable weather! It was lovely to see what families got up to during our snow day and see pictures of the various snowmen made! I’m pleased to see the children having so much fun.
The last few weeks have been extremely busy in school and I would like to thank parents and carers for taking the time to come in to spend the time with us for various events.
Parents Evenings
Thank you to all who attended our Parents’ Evenings over the past few weeks. It was a pleasure to be able to share some of the work that the children are completing in class and I know that some adults were quite overwhelmed with how your children are doing in school. The children at Larks Hill work so hard and make me and my staff proud every day. It was a pleasure for us to be able to share their learning journey with you.
Reading Mornings
I would like to thank all who attended our Reading mornings in school last week. It is always lovely to see the children reading and sharing books with their adults. I know many enjoyed this event and wanted to stay longer!
Sewing Workshops
Year 1 and 2 held a sewing workshop last week where parents and carers could attend. The intention is for the children to create a sea scene that will eventually become part of a key stage one sea collage. I was more than impressed with the creativity and sewing skills from both adults and children alike. I know that everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time together with many adults sharing their delight in their feedback. Thank you to all those who attended.
Red Nose Day
It was a fun packed day in school today with the children coming in non-uniform to raise funds for Comic Relief. One pupil in Year 5 has been busy selling crocheted red nose merchandise to sell around school. Well done! A Dragon’s Den business woman in the making!
