COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER is open!
Seniors do you have work to do on your college applications? Do you need a space at lunch to go to get some of them done? Look no further, the College & Career Center is open and welcome to students during Support Seminars, lunch, and after school! You are able to just pop in during lunch and after school, however, you will need to sign up for Support Seminar through FlexiSched. The College & Career Center is next to Joe’s Boathouse. You are also welcome to schedule an appointment with Ms. Stevie at your convenience.
ATTENDANCE REMINDER
If your Student is missing a portion of the school day please be sure to call or email the attendance office at 503-534-2329 or lohattendance@loswego.k12.or.us. If possible please allow ample time to process releasing your student from class. (Minimum 2 hour ahead preferred.)
Please be sure your student is checking IN or checking OUT at Main office when they arrive once the school day has started. A late slip is not an automatic EXCUSED absence. Parents are required to communicate reason for absence or tardy and Attendance office is required to determine if reason is and excused or unexcused. When leaving a voicemail please be sure to include Student first & last name, Spelling, date and details of absence etc. We do not accept NOTES for high school Attendance.
Students under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian call them out of school.
ROBO calls are automated calls from school to notify you if your student misses a class. Once the school day starts and your student is present, if marked Absent in a class Parents will receive a ROBO call. The STUDENT IS REQUIRED to CONTACT THE Teacher from that class to clear up absence Please. Parents can CHECK Absences on their Parent view once the ROBO call is activated.
Pre-Arranged absences are needed when your student is planning to miss school for TWO or more days. These forms are available in the main office on the attendance desk.
Lake Oswego HS will do our best to assist you with your needs as the day continues but please understand that there are high volume days and times of days that it might take a moment to get your student. Whenever possible, it is preferred for Parent's to email or call schol ahead of time instead of coming into school to check kids out last minute. We realize this is not always possible and will do our best to help you in a timely matter if a last minute withdrawal is needed.

LOHS FAMILY SURVERY
This year we are going through the accreditation process and one of the things we need to complete is a brief 26 item family survey. Most of the items have a one sentence description and you select a response on 1-5 scale. Responses are anonymous and we would like to get as close as possible to 100% participation.

Tech Consent and Protection Plan
In order for students to use school district software or any technology resources (devices, digital textbooks, etc.), there are three actions that need to be completed at the beginning of each school year:
- A parent or guardian must provide consent for each student to use District software and resources
- A Parent/Guardian and each Student must agree to the Acceptable Use Policy
- Families must choose to enroll or decline participation in the Device Damage and Loss Protection Program ($20 annual fee per student).
New Application for School Volunteers
For the safety of children, volunteers are required to have an approved background check when volunteering in schools.
To help streamline compliance with state and school board policies, which require that all volunteers have background checks and knowledge of other board policies -- as well as state-mandated proof of vaccination (or a qualified exemption) -- we are introducing a new all-in-one volunteer application and approval process through ou Raptor Visitor Management System.
Submitting an online application initiates the background check process. Once submitted, applicants will receive an email upon approval of your background check and you will be given access through the onsite Raptor System at all schools. Please allow up to three weeks to process your approval.
Volunteers need to submit only one application for volunteering in all LOSD schools. Applications need to be submitted annually to capture changes in background checks, policies, and/or vaccination requirements.
Volunteer Application for LOSD
Thank you for applying promptly, and for your service to our students and schools. We are grateful for our volunteers.
Ways to report incidents related to bias, racism or harassment in losd
Parents-guardians who have concerns about a student’s well-being are encouraged to reach out to their principal, and to maintain strong lines of communication and partnership between students, families, staff, and other resources. SafeOregon is also an effective way to report a tip regarding safety threats or potential acts of violence to our students or schools. Students should also be aware that intentionally providing a false report is a serious offense. https://www.safeoregon.com/
In addition, below are reporting methods for parents-guardians or students to use to report issues related to racist, bias, or harassment incidents.
