The first HSA meetings of the 2023/2024 school year are on Monday, September 18th, in the school library.

In an effort to make the meetings as accessible as possible, we offer babysitting in the 2nd grade pod at every meeting.

If you have a child in 6th grade or up interested in babysitting please sign them up below:

The Classroom Social Committee is seeking volunteers to be Homeroom Coordinators!

The Homeroom Coordinator is responsible for organizing three classroom socials for the year (Fall, Winter, Valentine's Day). This will include creating a signup genius and email for the teacher to forward to classroom parents prior to each social.

This year, we are also asking that each coordinator act as the class yearbook liaison, which includes identifying a photographer for each social, and ensuring all photos are uploaded to the yearbook Dropbox within a week of the event.

If you would like to volunteer to be your child's Homeroom Coordinator, please complete this form: https://forms.office.com/r/NXmvFQtthA.

The form will be closed on Wednesday, September 13, and those chosen as Coordinators will be contacted via email.

We are asking that all Coordinators attend the HSA and Homeroom Coordinator meetings on Monday, September 18.

The Vernfield HSA invites you to join us at the 2023 Back to School Bash, being held at Vernfield Elementary on Friday, September 22nd from 5:30 – 7:30pm. More information can be found in the accompanying flyer.

We are excited to ring in a new school year!

The Vernfield HSA is proud to support students and teachers with the generous donations and fundraising from our Vernfield community.

Your fundraising dollars were used to support two requests in preparation for the school year:

1) Providing new toys and games for incoming Kindergartners to use during free time in their classrooms

2) Replacing the well-loved playground sports balls with brand new footballs, basketballs, frisbees and 4-square balls

More details on the approved 2023/2024 HSA budget will be presented at the first HSA meeting on September 18th.

The link to the 2023-2024 Vernfield "Subscribed" Calendar is below. This is an easy way to keep up to date with events and days off at Vernfield without hand-entering them!

Please keep in mind that this is a subscribed calendar maintained by Home & School. Every effort will be made to keep it up-to-date, but the Vernfield printed and online calendar (Vernfield website) are the official school calendars. The subscribed calendar includes the dates of events most relevant to all families; grade-specific events and activities are not included.

When you click on the link, many calendar apps will provide you the option to 'subscribe' to the calendar, so that any updates to the calendar are automatically updated on your phone.

If your phone instead downloads the events onto your calendar, the events will not update automatically. If you don't receive the option to subscribe to the calendar when you click the link, please try the following:

1. Go to calendar.google.com on a PC (not on a mobile phone), after logging into google
2. Click on the cog in the upper right and click on settings
3. On the left panel, scroll down until you see “add calendar” and click the down arrow and click “from a URL”
4. Paste the .ical URL that is listed in this message and click “add calendar”
5. You should then have the option to open the subscribed calendar in your calendar app
