Food For Thought Experience
Thanks to a generous grant from LAFCU, Mrs. Tanner's AP U.S. History class enjoyed their second Food for Thought experience. Students researched foods produced by Michigan, foods brought to Michigan by various immigrant groups, and modern Michigan cuisine. Student groups selected recipes to cook and celebrated Michigan becoming a state in 1837. Many thanks to Mrs. Rush for allowing the group to use her room for the experience.
Window Painting
Local artist and NW alumni Dione Trip came to Northwest High School on December 6 & 7, 2023 to help Art Club students to paint holiday cheer in the windows by the office and the teachers lounge.
The students who participated are Megan Matyzius, Madalyn Worthey, Jacob Fugate, Aniah Hulburt, Glena Kelley, Jay Knight and Autumn Wilkinson. Thank you all for sharing your magnificent Mountie talent with us!
History of the Holocaust and Genocide Field Trip
Through the generous support of the Zekelman Holocaust Center, Mrs. Tanner's History of the Holocaust and Genocide classes got the wonderful opportunity to visit the museum and spend the day viewing the exhibits and hearing the testimony of a next generation survivor speaker. This experience brought together the studies of the 12 weeks of Holocaust history studies in Trimester 1, and gave students the chance to see the artifacts left behind by the survivors and perpetrators of the Holocaust. Any student interested in taking the course or learning about student programs available at the museum can see Mrs. Tanner in room 515.
Did you know that there is an online student news site called The Moxie Mountie?
Below is a great article written by Ashton Teal for The Moxie Mountie. Check it out and check out the other great content while you are there!
A Special Thank You!
